-The Akwa Ibom State government has expressed strong determination to curtail widespread corruption in government and allied institutions and has resolved that all financial transactions must be made through the Single Treasury Account (TSA).

LEADERSHIP learnt that this was part of the resolutions reached at the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held presided over by Governor Umo Eno at the Exco Chamber of the Government House in Uyo, the State capital.

Addressing Journalists at the end of the meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Elder Aniekan Umanah, explained that the decision became necessary following a memo to that effect by the finance ministry.

“The Executive Council, as a follow up to the presentation by the Ministry of Finance, deliberated on the report on harmonisation of the Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) Treasury Single Account (TSA).

“Consequently, the SEC approved the formal adoption of the TSA policy to enhance revenue efficiency, block leakages and promote transparency.

“The TSA platform, “Akwaremit”, alongside the State land management platform, “AkwaGIS”, are scheduled for official launch on September 1, 2025,” the commissioner said.

Towards enhanced sports development, the Council also ratified the Finance and General Purpose Committee (FGPC) memo on the renewal of the maintenance contract with Julius Berger Plc for an additional one-year term effective July 1, 2025.

He noted that this was for sustainable maintenance of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions).

“Council also considered and approved an FGPC memo from the Commissioner for Finance and Supervising Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport on additional works at Ewet Luxury Estate, occasioned by topographical challenges and revised architectural designs for the project.

“Council also ratified two FGPC memos presented by the Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning, and approved the construction of 4.541km internal single carriage roads with 0.48km discharge drains, including service ducts, walkways, and manholes at Dakkada Luxury Estate, Uyo.

“In accordance with Section 18(1) of the State Fiscal Responsibility Law, Council, following the presentation by the Hon Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, considered and approved the State Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP) for 2026–2028.

“The three-year indicative framework, based on macroeconomic assumptions, is to be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for legislative action,” he said.

The Commissioner added that following a status report by the Commissioner for Sports on preparations for the forthcoming Akwa Ibom Sports Festival, Council approved the replacement of obsolete sporting equipment to host the various events.

The Governor further directed the ministry to develop a comprehensive State sports assets inventory system to enhance safety and ensure proper maintenance.

Also, as part of efforts to consolidate the ARISE Food Security Programme (AFSP), the State Council considered a report from the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and approved the commencement of Phase III of the free food distribution programme across the 31 local government areas, beginning August 20, 2025.

In the same vein, the Council also considered and approved the public Presentation of the ARISE Socio-Economic Impact Framework (ASIF) -to access governance performance and present factual developmental data on the present administration as presented by the Economic Adviser to the Governor.

In furtherance of government’s commitment to making the State Open Defecation Free (ODF), the Council also approved the construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities in public spaces and institutions in Obot Akara, Ikono, Esit Eket, and Nsit Ubium LGAs as a pilot scheme.

Umanah stressed that this followed the consideration of a report from the Ministry of Water Resources.

PRESS RELEASE

FG Completes 135 Road Projects Across Northern Nigeria – Minister of Information and National Orientation Federal Republic of Nigeria Hon Mohammad Idris malagi.

The Minister of Transportation, Saidu Ahmed Alkali, has disclosed that the Federal Government has completed 135 road projects across northern Nigeria as part of its infrastructure renewal drive.
Speaking on 30 July 2025 during the 2-day interactive session organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation, the Minister said 216 additional road construction projects are currently ongoing in the region.

He further revealed that 312 road maintenance projects have been completed, while 50 others are in progress.
According to the Minister, several legacy projects cutting across many states are underway, including the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, Calabar–Abuja Superhighway, and the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe Road.

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 14 road projects have been completed and commissioned. Other completed projects include the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network Project, the construction or rehabilitation of numerous primary and secondary schools, and the commissioning of three world-class bus terminals.
He added that several other road construction, rehabilitation, and expansion works are ongoing across the country in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Gentlemen and ladies please peruse social-media or go directly to search facebook to find receipts where you will see that the CONSTITUTIONALLY RECOGNIZED APC AKWA IBOM PUBLICITY SECRETARY's PRESS RELEASE dated 29th July, 2025 titled "PDP CARCASS LEFT IN AKWA IBOM STATE” didnt need any REJOINDER that doesnt have the express blessing of his esteemed office and in fact that PRESS RELEASE should be a study guide for all political science students across tertiary institutions in Akwa Ibom to study "THE RISE & FALL FROM GRACE OF THE PDP IN AKWA IBOM STATE INTO TATTERS".

Naturally i wouldnt have responded to this but it appears the same individuals simply rebranded from the constitutionally unrecognized rubbish they initally coined "MEDIA UNIT , OFFICE OF THE STATE CHAIRMAN" into "ARISERENEWEDHOPE MEDIA group"

My question to these faceless individuals is this :

A. Why are you people intimidated by the SPOTLESS PROFILE OF MY PUBLICITY SECRETARY Barr Otoabasi Udo?

B. What do you stand to gain by duplicating functions solely meant for his office?

C. If you people were that popular why didnt you stand against him at the elections where he emerged as the AKWA IBOM STATE APC PUBLICITY SECRETARY?

D. Have you advised your sponsors that by challenging the APC AKWA IBOM PUBLICITY SECRETARY "Barr Otoabasi Udo" you are actually challenging my party leader Gov. Umo Eno who had expressly directed that the current STATE WORKING COMMITTEE of the PARTY ably led by my State Chairman Obong Stephen Ntukekpo continue unperturbed and that there wont be a change for the "time being" : a decision which i now understand was communicated to him by my President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who recently and publicly stated at the APC N.E.C Meeting that the Party structures across the nation subsists until december 2025 just immediately after the endorsement & announcement of our new APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN Prof Nentawe Yelwatda ?

...WHICH WAY AKWA IBOM, "IBAKA DEEP SEAPORT" OR "OBOLO STATE" ?

Good Day Sir's/Madam.

It is a thing of joy to witness some sections of Akwa Ibom voicing out their desire for another state whch they call OBOLO STATE via social-media and at the National Assembly via the House of Representatives ongoing constitution review process which i have also personally shared "pictorial evidences of a cross-section of opinions generated" across the Akwa Ibom social-media space on my verified facebook handle : "WebDev Imoh Inyangette".

However i wish to call for TACT AND PATIENCE: Why this you may ask?...My reasons are simple arising from my experience as a member of the Defunct Social & Humanitarian Directorate BAT / SHETTIMA 2023 PCC , my sojourn in that PCC afforded me the opportunity to understand how A*O ROCK POLITICS automates itself .

What do i mean by AUTOMATION? Simply put, you cant request for something AS A DIVIDED HOUSE, rather you must unify alll opinions under one umbrella when you sit at the TABLE with the POWER BROKERS & POLITICAL BUREAUCRATS .

Are we achieving this right now? The answer is NO because some of us are still basking in the rightfully generated euphoria of the widely accepted alignment of my leader Governor Umo Eno into APC, that we have allowed COMMON SENSE take flight with this OBOLO STATE nexus.

Its sad to say that at this point we are unknowingly distracting Governor Pastor Umo Eno from concentrating on his major request to my President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he removes all BUREAUCRATIC & POLITICAL BOTTLENECKS stalling the realization of the IBAKA DEEP SEAPORT.

I insist that this is the time to showcase POLITICAL MATURITY by unifying all our requests on a PRIORITY BASIS so Govenor Umo Eno doesnt feel let down at this critical juncture by his own people which at the end of the day may throw a spanner into all the positives generated by his entrance into the APC.

At Abuja , the way the game is played is what i term "the more you look the less you see".

Is our OBOLO STATE request LEGITIMATE? Yes , but regrettably isnt appropriate at this time .

We must be careful not to over heat the polity which may unavoidably create an ethnic crisis between the Ibibio's and the Oro becasue a section of the Akwa Ibom social-media community have begun pouring undeserved invectives on the office of my Governor which is basically a betrayal especially when some of us dont know the sleepless nights my leader has had to endure to ensure a seamless integration into APC which is still infact still being fine-tuned.

I do not also wish to accept that the good and loving / hospitable people of Akwa Ibom would allow themselves be remote-controlled by any faceless group or persons with the sole intention of creating an UNSTABLE AKWA IBOM especially at this period to potray Governor Pastor Umo Eno in bad light.

Summarily i wish to plead for restraint while praying that God grants Governor Umo Eno wisdom to navigate this sensitive situation and i must appeal that we all support him because as i have already stated, he is a man that excels most when people underestimate him.

If anybody should attack Governor Pastor Umo Eno it should be from an outsider and not from his own people by whom he is only trying to govern to the best of his abilities.

Dear Friends, if anyone is pushing you to pour invectives on his person why not tell that person : "NO! Governor Umo Eno needs our support to sufficiently convince the Government of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to speedily actualize Ibaka Deep Seaport and so we shouldnt distract him".

Meanwhile i know some persons might be confused with my choice of IBAKA DEEP SEAPORT insttead of IBOM DEEP SEAPORT but to them i will advice to go back to their history books so they discover that I AM CORRECT.

Pls lets support Governor Umo Eno because he is one man i know is "100% - ONE AKWA IBOM FOCUSED" .

Suspicious toxicology report ⚠️⚠️
Bias by the pr*s*di*g jud*e ⚠️⚠️...etc

Her husbands family has a history of ASTHMA and thats what killed him.

Mrs Abasieseabanga Ikoiwak is a victim of her husbands family hating their son and immediately he died looking for every means to discredit the wife just to seize family properties meant for him.

The family's lawyer lied that she was never married to Barr Ikoiwak but I saw a marriage certificate defeating such statement .

The DSS REPORT on her call records totally exonerated her and the only reason she was convicted was on a TECHNICALITY (I.e falsification of records) since national population commission characteristically demands a reason before issuing a death certificate and which the CORRECT REA*ON GIVEN WAS "ASTHMA",

But the toxicologist who claimed that it was OTAPIAPIA that killed the husband couldnt state the LOCATION of the LABORATORY where he went to do the autopsy, infact he couldnt even remember the name of the doctor who assisted him do the autopsy? Shouldnt that be suspicious?

How do you do an AUTOPSY without the wife and her lawyer present?

Can an autopsy be carried out in secret especially in a sensitive case as this?

The toxicologist couldnt explain what chemically constitutes OTAPIAPIA since that was what the prosecution alleges killed the husband?

Some asthmatic patient who succumb to their crisis largely & characteristically appear in a CURLED position & this was the case of MR IKOIWAK , the embalmer had to pump embalming fluid into him so that he could stretch him out for burial especially to fit in the casket!.

So why will the jud*e hurry to convict her without looking at the facts that SHE WAS CORRECT THAT IT WAS ASTHMA THAT UNFORTUNATELY KILLED THE HUSBAND but chose to base his judgement on the wrong toxicology report ?

Another question is this: Why did the prosecution allege that Ikoiwak had no children and the jud*e accepting without ordering a DNA test for his TWO CHILDREN who were present in court throughout the duration of the trial even when the wife's lawyer asked for this to be done?

The entirety of this case reeks of BIAS and shows the incompetence of the law to protect the innocent.

I have studied the CTC of that case and I must apologize to Mrs Ikoiwak again .

You have experienced NIGERIA but your testimony will be better than it is today.
