RISING STAR CONCERT: GOV ENO TASKS PARENTS ON TALENT DEVELOPMENT AMONG CHILDREN

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged parents to be deliberate in developing talents in their children by encouraging them to acquire skills in the creative arts to keep them valuably engaged and enable them impact positively on the society .

Governor Eno gave the charge while addressing the audience at the Rising Star Concert, Edition 4.0, held at Rehoboth Hall, Royalty Hotel in Eket Local Government Area.

He acknowledged that there could not have been a better happy hour for him than the Sunday evening thrilling moments savoured in the extraordinary talents showcased in the ballet, musical renditions, instrumentations, miming and other dances performed by the children.

Governor Eno commended the children on their command performance, saying that they kept him spellbound throughout the show and appreciated the organisers and trainers of the children for catching them young and diligently grooming them into stars that can give joy.

He urged parents to engage their children in such creative endeavours rather than allow them to idle about.

"There is no joy that you can get more than just sitting down, watching your children and grandchildren perform. It relaxes your mind and calms your nerves. For me, this is my day of happy hour", the Governor declared.

Speaking with pressmen at the end of the event, the CEO of Rikjoy Performing Arts Academy, organizers of the event, Mrs. Idara Imo-owo Nabuk, said it was a great delight and honour to have the Governor’s presence at the occasion, describing his support as a morale booster to both the children and the Academy.

She said music is of great value and helpful to children by enhancing their cognitive abilities and general brain development, adding that It builds confidence and human relations, while acting as anti-stress agent.

Nabuk said that she was inspired to set up the Academy to help children learn music and creative arts professionally to enable them fit into the global entertainment industry.

HON. PRINCE-ANIEFIOK ATTAH OBSERVES MONTHLY SANITATION IN NSIT ATAI.
..doles out 1.2 million Naira to participating communities

Hon. Prince-aniefiok Attah, the esteemed member Representing Nsit Atai State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the cause of cleanliness and unity in Nsit Atai communities. The Hon. member who is known for participating in monthly sanitation exercises in his community today decided to honor communities who have in the past months shown consistency in carrying out the monthly government environmental sanitation initiative to maintain significant environmental cleanliness and also used the event to advocate for peace, unity, and support among the residents.

The carnival-like celebration which saw participants of the exercise gathered at the prestigious Asan Ibedu witnessed the presence of esteemed stakeholders including the Group Head of Ibedu, Chief Udoudo Okono, Chief Akpan Samuel Udo, the village head of Ikot Nkpene, Chief Tom Nkpene, leaders of thought, and political stakeholders as well as youths of the participating communities.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Prince-Aniefiok Attah praised the people for their commitment to the monthly sanitation exercise and urged them to continue since a clean and healthy environment guarantees healthy living. He emphatically spoke against leaving our communities to rot, emphasizing that the government's agenda, as posited by the Governor, is designed to benefit those who are diligent in their endeavors. He stressed the importance of collective effort, urging every resident to contribute actively towards the advancement and prosperity of Nsit Atai State Constituency.

The lawmaker passionately reiterated his dedication to promoting livelihood, industry, and education within the Nsit Atai State Constituency. He made a remarkable promise to empower law students from the region throughout their academic journey, providing them with essential support and resources to excel in their studies and contribute to the community's growth.

In an act of profound gratitude and encouragement, Hon. Prince-Aniefiok Attah presented the communities with a generous sum of N1.2 million ( One Million Two Hundred Thousand Naira). This monetary token of appreciation was for the residents' relentless commitment to maintaining cleanliness and aligning harmoniously with the government's overarching "Arise" agenda. The gesture, according to the Assemblyman not only served as an encouragement but also highlighted the value placed on community-driven initiatives.

In their various remarks, the dignitaries expressed their profound gratitude to God for blessing Nsit Atai with a leader like Hon. Prince-Aniefiok Attah. They acknowledged his passion and commitment, which have brought positive transformation to the constituency. Different speakers lauded Hon. Attah at the event also extended his generosity to the child who brought beans cake (akara) to sell during the sanitation when he offered the mother the sum of 10,000 naira through the son to further boost her akara business in the community.

As stakeholders pledged their unwavering support, it is evident that Hon. Prince-Aniefiok Attah's legislative journey is poised for an exceptional and uncontested legacy If monumental achievements and effective representation.

HE Governor Pastor Umo Eno made an on-the-spot assessment of the flooded portion on Atiku Abubakar Avenue, Uyo, to assess the situation personally.

The waterlogged area requires immediate intervention, and he instructed the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency, Prince Akpan Ikim, to immediately commence the desilting of all the drainages within that area to ensure a quick evacuation of rainwater.

EXCERPTS OF THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE Pastor Umo Eno LED STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL, Akwa Ibom State Government HELD ON FRIDAY, 28TH JULY,2023 AT THE EXCO CHAMBERS, GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, UYO.

HE The Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government, Head of the Civil Service, all Honourable Commissioners and Special Adviser.

OPENING FORMALITIES/DEDICATION
The meeting which was chaired by the Governor, HE Pastor Umo Eno as Chairman-in-Council, commenced at 11am with the rendition of the National and State anthems. The Governor thereafter admitted into the chambers Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Ekong, whose duty was to offer prayers of dedication for the Governor, Executive Council and the entire Government.

The Governor then declared the inaugural meeting open and urged the members to give their very best in the discharge of their official responsibilities. He appealed to the appointees to show loyalty and dedication as the assume their roles in the new administration. The Governor further charged members to stay current with human angle issues relating to their ministry’s mandate, in line with the ARISE Agenda of his administration.

EXCO by motion admitted the Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mrs Uduakobong Inam PhD into the Council as a member in attendance, in order to help the office of the Economic Adviser to understand the mindset of the EXCO and fastrack the attainment of the ARISE Agenda.

EXCO appreciated the support and inputs from critical stakeholders who attended the state dialogue, especially HE Arc. Obong Victor Attah, HE Udom Emmanuel, Distinguished Senator Udoma udo Udoma, who chaired the event, all the facilitators, resource persons and all participants.

All EXCO members made presentations on their propositions in relation to their Ministerial mandate. Resolutions from the just concluded state dialogue were sent to the relevant ministries for review and incorporation into the ministerial work plan.

The meeting came to a close at 3pm with a closing prayer worded by HE the Deputy Governor, Sen. Dr. Akon Eyakenyi.

1. Ministry of Works and Housing
Split into,
- Ministry of Works - focusing on federal roads and highways.
- Ministry of Housings -... ..restructure and heavily financed to jump-start economic growth.

2. Ministry of Transportation
Split into,
- Ministry of Railways & Rail Transport
- Ministry of Waterways & Marine Transportation – in charge of ports, navigable rivers. Note that inland waterways are.....essentially a concurrent item.
- Roads Transport move into Works Ministry

3. Ministry of Education
Split into,
- Ministry of Basic & Special Education
- Ministry of Tertiary and Advanced Education

4. Ministry of Budgeting and National Planning
- Budgeting to be moved....to/merged with Finance.
- National Planning to be moved to the Presidency or a new Ministry of Statistics.

5. Ministry of Commerce and Industry
- Commerce - move to the Ministry of Trade and Investment.
- Industry – move to a new Ministry of Employment and Industry. See.....No. 9

6. Ministry of Petroleum Resources
Restructure for solid petroleum, that is Bitumen and Tar sand, to be given more resources and attention.

7. Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
- Rename as Ministry of Agriculture.

8. Ministry of Interior
- Restructure to handle all identity, birth and death registration, and immigration issues. NPC is to be moved into a new Ministry of Statistics and involved only with the census.

- Rename as Ministry of Information and National Orientations.

11. Ministry of Solid Minerals Development
