🚨Under Nigerian law, buying and selling Naira notes outside of banks is illegal. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and security agencies have declared it a punishable offense.

Yet, across many cities, street money changers and black-market operators openly sell bundles of cash at higher rates, especially during cash scarcity. This practice fuels corruption, money laundering, and makes life harder for ordinary citizens who are forced to pay extra just to access their own money.

The law is clear:
Section 21 of the CBN Act prohibits the sale, mutilation, or abuse of the Naira.
Offenders risk fines and imprisonment if caught engaging in this illegal trade.
