UKANAFUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA BOILS AS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN EMBEZZLES ₦12.5million on the Orders of Akwa Ibom State Governor

A petition from one of the Supervisors in Ukanafun Local government Area who pleads anonymity has it that the Executive Chairman of Ukanafun Local government Area Hon ( Pst ) Godwin Matthew Inyieng has withdrawn the sum of 12.5million naira from the account of the Local government Area allegedly on your orders.

The Petition has it that on the 6th of November 2023 the Executive Chairman of Ukanafun Local government Area Hon Pst Godwin Matthew Inyieng convened an FGPC meeting in his office at the Council office Ikot Akpa Nkuk where he intimated his EXCO that you have mandated all the Local Government Chairmen whose local government you are to inaugurate The One Project per Local Government initiative to make available the sum of 18.5million ( eighteen million and five hundred thousand ) naira for entertainment and logistics. It is said that when the Chairman made it clear that he would withdraw the said sum ,the supervisors objected and also made the demand to be paid one million ( #1,000,000.00 ) naira each before they will give approval for the withdrawal of the said amount . Hell was let loose when the trio of Secretary of Council Mr Mfreke Elijah , Treasurer of Council Mr Christian Akpan and the Director of Works Engr Livingstone stood up to support the Chairman against the desire of the Supervisors and they were beaten blue black and the meeting ended in fiasco .

On the 7th of November 2023 the Chairman Hon Pst Godwin Matthew Inyieng convened another meeting at his Ikot Akpan Abia residence where he agreed to pay the sum of 300,000 ( three hundred thousand ) naira each to the nine Supervisors,Vice Chairman and Secretary of Council and the deal was sealed as everyone was to be a beneficiary of the loot .

The Petition has it that yesterday the Chairman ordered the transfer of the sum of 12.5million ( twelve million and five hundred thousand) naira to the account of the Council Secretary Mr Mfreke Elijah which is to be withdrawn and given to the Chairman. That same yesterday the Chairman ordered the immediate transfer of 200,000.00 ( two hundred thousand) naira each to the nine ( 9 ) Supervisors ,the Vice Chairman, the Secretary of Council and all the ranking civil Servants in the Local Government Council .

On this note we call on the Governor of the State to call the Executive Chairman of Ukanafun to immediately refund those monies back to the Council account with the next 48 hours or we won't hesitate to drag him to the EFCC ( Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ) as our legal department are already on the process.

WIKE'S REVELATIONS: UDOM IN SECRET MOVES TO DISCOUNT $664M
......promises ₦56B Commission to Commercial Bank

Following the strong and massive revelation by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on the funds remitted by the Buhari led Federal Government to Akwa Ibom State as part of the State's thirteen percent derivation funds, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has been alleged to have approached a commercial bank, seeking to discount the sum of $664M, amounting to ₦248B.

Notably, the lump sum which is the accumulated outstanding shortfall of derivation from 1999 to 2018 was implemented by the Federal Ministry of Finance with a spread installmental payment of over 60 months since the country’s treasury cannot afford such a huge payout at once.

A top officer of the Bank who volunteered this information to our reporter while pleading annonymity said, the Governor has agreed to pay the Commercial Bank the sum of ₦56B as Commission if the deal sails through.

The action of the State's Chief Executive was received with rude shock as feelers from the State Ministry of Finance and office of the State Accountant General have all claimed ignorance of the move.

It was learnt that the Governor being a financial expert intends to discount the funds so that it will be easy for the money to be channeled into private pockets as it will make more meaning especially when the cash is set to be moved into private purses.

But an inside source in the office of the Accountant General hinted our reporters that the move by the Governor to discount the money is fraudulent, ungodly and very unskilled by a Governor noting that the rate at which funds are being siphoned under the watch and directive of the State Governor is a diservice to the economy of Akwa Ibom State, adding that if successive governments had fingered the State resources and funds like it is done under the Governor's watch, Akwa Ibom State would have been thrown into a state of financial coma.

Our source querried the State Government's decision to make such schewed moves as if the money is his personal property.

Meanwhile, the $2.56billion which is the largest chunk of the money was for both Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.

The AG office argued that discounting the funds without a thorough legislative protocol is not only barbaric, but a clear indication that the Governor is all out to bleed the finances of the state as he winds down his tenure.

Meanwhile, a former Commissioner for Economic development in the State has described the allege move by the Governor as being insensitive, economically abusive and an indication that the Governor is taking the State for a ride as according to him, no macro or micro economy in the World supports or promotes such financial rascality.

The Ex Commissioner argued also that Governor Emmanuel should rather use the percentage he intends to pay to the commercial bank to pay off gratuities and complete ongoing projects as the move to discount the money is nothing but an abuse of office and finacial impropriety unheard of in a modern day economy that will only make one man richer than the entire state.

He described further the action of the Governor as a very sadistic approach to governance.

Governor Udom Emmanuel has vowed to silence every perceived opposition against the installation of pastor Umo Eno as his successor.

Udom Emmanuel was said to have boasted to some his of kitchen cabinet members that he has succeeded in silencing Akan Okon, Akan Udofia and Senator Godswill Akpabio, and assured them that he has settled the Judge to convict Senator Bassey Albert on the alleged money laundering case with EFCC.

The Governor was said to have declared to his allies that the only Governorship opposition that will challenge Umo Eno at the polls which he described as ‘lifeless' is Senator John Udoedehe.

He said Udoedehe lacks the political prowess to garner a good number of votes that will spring surprise in the electoral system.

Our source who was part of the meeting alleged that the Governor disclosed to them that he has concluded plans to send the sum of five Billion naira equivalent in dollars cash to Justice Agatha Okeke in order to swing judgment against Senator Bassey Albert.

It can be recalled that prior to the ruling on the case of certificate scandal of Pastor Umo Eno, Udom was alleged to have succeeded in bribing the presiding judge, Justice Agatha Okeke with the sum of five hundred million naira and bullet proof SUV to sway the case on technicalities in favour of Umo Eno.

Findings by our investigative team has it that as at two week, Governor Udom Emmanuel had dispatched a team led by Engr Uwem Okoko and one joe who purchase two billet proof SUV with the mandate to meet with the judge and present the offer from the state government to her.

One of the bullet proof SUV the source added was given to Umo Eno Governorship State campaign co-ordinator .It was discovered that the team made several attempts to see the female judge but was not possible as the woman had expressly declared that the case is bad one and was not within her power to help Pastor Umo Eno.

Our source also said that Justice Agatha Okeke rejected all offers from the state government until Thursday afternoon last week when she gave in because of pressure from other senior judges and powers that be, directing her to dismiss the case on technical grounds.

Justice Okeke was said to have received the sum of five hundred million naira in cash and bullet proof SUV from the Governor Udom Emmanuel through her husband who acted as her front .

"The Governor succeeded in using other judges to get across to Justice Agatha Okeke. The judge was instructed to dismiss the case on technicalities in favour of Pastor Umo Eno.

" If you observed , few days before judgment, government officials were moody until a day to the judgment when Engr Uwem Okoko-led bribe team succeeded in passing across the sum of five hundred million naira and a bulletproof SUV to the justice through her assigned proxy.

"After that they were confidence that the case would be decided in their favour, reason you saw Governor's aides engaging in frenzy before the judgment." Our source said.

It can be recalled that Mr. Akan Okon had dragged the PDP Governorship candidate to court over forged certificate and voter's card, demanding the court to declare him as the authentic winner of the PDP primaries in the state.

The case had remained in court for months and was decided on Friday 11 November, 2022 in favour of Udom for Umo Eno.

Meanwhile,a Socio -Political group in the State, Akwa Ibom Democrats for Justice has embarked on a move to petition Justice Okeke to the NJC. According to the President of the group,Chief Rufus Adiaumoh, It is no longer hidden that Justice Okeke is in the pockets of the Akwa Ibom State Governor and as such, Judgements are bought in his favour.

"As a people,we can't sit down and watch this miscarriage of Justice going on in this State hence the decision to act now as Akwa Ibom is the only State we have" he said.

GOVERNOR EMMANUEL IN LAST MINUTES RUSH TO SAVE UMO ENO, COURT FIXES NOVEMBER 11 FOR JUDGMENT

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, is in a last minutes rush to save Mr. Umo Eno, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, who is standing trial for alleged forgery.

Mr. Eno is standing trial at the Federal High Court Uyo, for alleged falsification of his educational certificate, voter’s card and birth records.

An aspirant for the May 25th PDP governorship primary, Mr. Akan Okon, former Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport in the state, in suit number, FHC/UY/CS/110/2022 before Justice Agatha Okeke, had asked the court to disqualify Eno for filing forged documents for the contest.

The presiding judge, Justice Okeke had on Friday 14th October announced November 28 as tentative date for judgement on the case.

However, earlier last week, the court in a notice to parties fixed Friday 11th November for judgment on the case.

Mr. Emmanuel who announced Eno as his preferred successor in January 2022, is said to be running around to save his candidate from being booted out of the governorship race.

Sources who spoke on strict confidence to our reporter said the governor has reached out to many influential contacts across the country to help him save Eno from being sacked by the Court.

One of the sources said, “the Governor cannot sit and watch the Court sack Umo Eno. Of late he has been jittery and no longer at ease with people surrounding him. He has been travelling out of the state more frequently of late reaching out to influential people across the country in a bid to save the situation.”

“The Governor knows that Umo Eno had a very bad case and he is aware that if he leaves it to the drama that the defence lawyers staged in the court, Umo Eno will be gone and that will be a huge blow to him especially the fact that he said God revealed Umo Eno to him”, the source added.

Opposition political parties in the state have taken due advantage of the alleged forgery case lampooning Eno, the PDP and Governor Emmanuel, faulting the Governor’s integrity and claim to excellence in the unfolding allegation in the case of multiple forgery.

Campaigning across the State, the Young Progressives Congress had in song challenged Umo Eno to bring his credentials if he wants to be governor.

However, the opposition parties are also said to be banking on the governor to pull through with Umo Eno’s case so that they can drag Eno to Court after the election.

The People of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area have promised candidate of the Young Progressives Congress, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan of their determination to ensure that they ignore the political colouration of their Paramount Ruler Ntenyin Somon Etuk and vote for the YPP Candidate's emergence come governorship election, 2023.

Nsit Ubium people stated this during a campaign of wards by the YPP guber candidate on Thursday. Mrs. Glory Uboho, Chief Manasseh Jackson, Owoh black, Usen Okoko and a former Chapter Chairman of the PDP amongst others made the assurance decrying the cold treatment the Monarch gave to the guber candidate and the YPP family when Senator Albert paid a consultative visit to him at his Palace in Nsit Ubium

Citizens who spoke described the action of the Paramount Ruler as sad, not expected, unbecoming and unfatherly.

The YPP gubernatorial candidate appealed to supporters not to derail, but to be steadfast, focus and determined opining that no amount of vain talks against them should push them into insulting the Elders and causing violence.

OBA promised to dualize the Enen Nsit road backed by state of the Arts aesthetics with streetlights. And also promised to construct and dualize Ndiya road to Mkpat Enin insisting that his intention is to ensure he links Akwa Ibom Communities together.

Speaking further, Senator Albert promised to make many millionaires from Nsit Ubium which he described as a Community with high intellectuals blessed with enterprising spirits. Factors he said will cause the rapid growth of Nsit Ubium and her people.

Senator Albert who was earlier praised for allowing Nsit Ubium people to benefit and enjoy his Scholarship schemes reminded the people of his determination towards ensuring that he provides an up to date Health facility per 1KM radius accross the State.

He enjoined the people to brace up as they are set to enjoy all dividends of Democracy under his watch as the Governor by the grace of God effective May, 2023.
