Lesson 16

TOPIC: MINISTERING WITH AUTHORITY
TEXT: Mark 1:21-34
MEMORY VERSE: "come ye after me, and I will make you become fishers of men" Mark 1:17

CENTRAL TRUTH: Through the authority of Jesus Christ we may carry on His ministry.

INTRODUCTION
Ministering the Word of God requires authority from God; for example John the Baptist kept calling men to repentance for about a year after baptizing Jesus. During this time Jesus ministered in Jerusalem and Judea, gave instruction to Nicodemus, and dealt with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well (John 1:35, 4:42). Then He returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee (Luke 4:14) and began a mighty ministry which He demonstrated His Divine authority Over men, demons, and sickness. From the beginning also, He made it His business to call, teach and train others that they might share the same Authority and the same Ministry.

CONCLUSION
Christians are called to minister with Authority. Like their master Jesus Christ, they can preach for salvation of souls of their hearer, heal, deliver from demonic oppression and exercise their Authority as Jesus did.

Lesson 12

TOPIC: CARING FOR OTHERS
TEXT: GENESIS 47:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: "God did send me before you to preserve life" Genesis 45:5

CENTRAL : Every Christian has an obligation to care for the spiritual and material needs of the family.

INTRODUCTION
God expects us to care for others just as His expectations from His children had not changed over the ages. This lesson brings us to the conclusion of our series of study on the patriarchs and their families. None of them had a written Bible to guide them, but they heard the voice of God and put their faith in God's promises. Most of the things they learned came the hard way. Yet, in it they all saw the hand of God. By God's gracious dealings with them and by His wonderous providence , God brought them through. He developed in them the abiding qualities of faith; hope and love. We ought to live faithfully to please God better than the patriarchs for the Bible and the Holy Spirit are available to us.

CONCLUSION
Joseph's brothers needed the reassurance, and Joseph gave it to them. What they meant for evil, God meant for good. God had forgiven them. They must believe this and learn to forgive themselves. Joseph would continue to provide for their food and welfare. Joseph also continued to encourage and reassure his brothers. In fact, during the days and years that followed, he kept on speaking kindly to their hearts

The holy Spirit breathed on everyone. It was a huge success.

A father said to his daughter, "You just graduated, this is a car I bought a while ago... It is a few years old. But before I give it, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it , see how much they offer.”

The girl came back to her father and said: "They offered 1000 euros because it looks very old"

The father said: Hold it and take it to the 2nd hand car dealer.

The girl returns to her father and says: "The pawn shop offered 100 euros because it is a very old car and lots of investments are needed to drive it again"

The father asked his daughter to join a passionate car club with experts and show them the car.

The girl drove the car to the passionate car club, turned and said to her father: “Some people in the club offered me 100,000 euros because it is a rare car that is in good condition, with great capabilities and super difficult to find.”

Then the father said, "I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place."

If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, that means you are in the wrong place. "Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value 😉👇."

Lesson 11

TOPIC: THE NOBILITY OF FORGIVENESS
TEXT: GENESIS 45:1-13
MEMORY VERSE: "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute" Matthew 5:44

CENTRAL : A child of God will demonstrate forbearance and forgiveness.

INTRODUCTION
How do you feel when you forgive someone? It's however not very easy but with willing heart, prayer and with God's help, it's possible. Last week's lesson ended with Judah's fervent, humble, self-sacrificing plea for Benjamin. It was a final proof of the genuine change and the true repentance, not only of Judah, but of all the brothers. We must keep Judah's words in mind as we go on to see Joseph's response. Can we forgive without forgetting? Some claim it is not true forgiveness unless there is forgetting. This much we can say: though there might be memory in the sense that the mind is an instrument that records permanently every impression, for the Christian there will be no malice with the memories.

CONCLUSION
True forgiveness goes beyond mere words. Joseph did not only forgive his brothers: he provided for them. Forgiveness that comes from the heart will inspire us to do all in our power to help those who have wronged us. It causes us to welcome the offender back into full fellowship with us.

Lesson 10

TOPIC: GOD WORKS THROUGH CIRCUMSTANCES
TEXT: GENESIS 44:18-34
MEMORY VERSE: "Be ye kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love" Romans 12:10

CENTRAL : God works behind the scene to fulfill His purposes.

INTRODUCTION
When our ship of life is full of troubles the thing to do is to remain calm and the Lord will speak peace unto us. It is not by mere chance that the famine in Egypt spread to other lands in all directions. God was faithfully fulfilling His promises to Joseph. God had not forgotten the way his brothers mocked the dreams when he prophesied they would now down to Joseph. Even though Jacob had rejected the idea. But God has His ways of seeing that prophecy is fulfilled. God was going to use the famine to draw his brothers to Egypt.

CONCLUSION
The circumstances of life have an effect upon us from a long-range view point, but most of all they reveal what we are. A storm reveals whether a tree is strong or weak. The circumstances in Egypt revealed much about the characters involved including Jacob.
