Erifon Ifiok Ukpe, a student of Akwa Ibom State University, AKSU, has bagged an award of commendation at the 27th International Union Of Pure And Applied Chemistry, IUPAC, International Conference On Chemistry Education.

The event which is organised by the American Chemical Society, A-C-S, was held from July 15 to 19, 2024, At Royal Cliff Grand Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand with the theme “Power Of Chemistry Education For Advancing Sustainable Development Goals”.

The award was presented to the Vice- Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University, Professor Nse Essien, during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the main campus, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.

Upon my return from Pattaya, Thailand, where I received recognition for my contributions, I had the privilege of meeting with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Nse Essien and other senior administrative officials. During this meeting, I shared my experiences and the outcomes of the poster presentation on the effect of local and standard resources on students' academic achievement in chemistry on the concept of Le Chatelier's principles. I was honored to be recognized as one of the top presenters.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Vice Chancellor pledged a reward of a token in recognition of my achievement. Furthermore, he directed the media team to publicize my accomplishment in Punch Newspapers and announce it on various radio stations.

The Vice Chancellor also took the opportunity to commend the members of the American Chemical Society for their outstanding work and achievements.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty for His love and guidance, my family for their unwavering support, the Vice Chancellor for his support and encouragement, the American Chemical Society for their valuable resources and community, the ICCE2024 organizers for the opportunity given to me to present, and the entire Akwa Ibom State University for their collective efforts in making this journey a resounding success.🤍✅
