Don't Take It So Personal, It’s Not Always About You.

Sometimes we carry pain that was never meant for us. Someone doesn’t text back. A friend forgets your birthday. A coworker snaps. A loved one grows distant. And without even realizing it, we take it personally.

We start asking ourselves:
What did I do wrong?
Am I not enough?
Why do they treat me like this?
But here’s the truth...
Most of the time, it's not even about you.

People are fighting battles you can't see. They have stress, trauma, insecurities, and distractions that cloud how they show up in the world.

Taking things personally is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick. It steals your peace, your confidence, and your joy.

Jesus didn’t take it personal when they rejected Him, mocked Him, or walked away. He understood: “Father, forgive them... they don’t know what they’re doing.” (Luke 23:34)

So what do we do when we feel hurt?
Pause before reacting. Ask yourself: “Is this really about me, or are they projecting something deeper?”

Pray it out. God hears you, and He’ll give you the peace your heart is craving.

Release the need to control others' behavior. Your worth doesn’t come from them, it comes from God.

Protect your peace. Not everything deserves a response. Not every situation deserves your energy.
Proverbs 19:11 says, “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”

Let’s stop carrying offense like it’s our identity. Let’s give grace, set boundaries, and most of all—heal forward.
