AKSG TRAINS, CERTIFIES 100 MORE ENTREPRENEURS IN 7TH BATCH OF MEGP

No less than a hundred entrepreneurs were today certified and awarded prizes after weeks of training in the Akwa Ibom State Government flagship entrepreneurship education programme tagged "My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme" (MEGP). The trainees, numbering about 100 who were awarded certificates and other prizes in a colourful ceremony, Friday, 30th December, 2022 were highly elated and full of praises to the State Government for the MEGP initiative.

In a remark sent to the event, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel said the state Government's investments in human capacity development were deliberate and well targeted. Governor Emmanuel who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah urged the participants to justify the Government's investments in the programme by applying skills learnt at the programme to their businesses, so as to better their lots. Speaking further, the state Governor said the Business Strategy Simulation game introduced in the 7th batch of the MEGP was a laudable initiative, stressing that skills used in the navigating the game can be applied to real life business scenarios. The State Governor announced a donation of twenty thousand naira (20, 000NGN) to all participants in the competition, apart from the winning group who will receive two million naira (2,000,000 NGN) courtesy of the state Government.

Earlier in their separate remarks, SA to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana, State SMEDAN coordinator, Lucy Ekpenyong, MEGP Project supervisor, Brian Ekwere thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for initiating and sustaining the MEGP initiative. They sued for sustainability of the programme even beyond the Udom Emmanuel administration.

At the end of the event, team Elitz emerged winners of the business simulation game, clinching the two million naira star prize.

2 MILLION NAIRA UP FOR GRABS IN MEGP BUSINESS SIMULATION GAME

As part of activities marking the completion of trainings in the 8th batch of the My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP), a business simulation game has been organized to help participants deal with "true to reality" business strategy, tactics and challenges.

Participants, who are drawn from the 7th batch of the MEGP have been divided into 5 companies and are presently battling in a blue ocean strategy styled competition.

The team with the highest Return on Investment (ROI) will be declared winner and will clinch the 2 million Naira prize money at the Certification ceremony scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall of De Angelo Hotel on the 30th December, 2022.

HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT: AKSG COMMENCES ANOTHER ROUND OF BUSINESS TRAININGS..as 7th batch of My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP) gets underway

The Akwa Ibom State Government's flagship business education initiative tagged My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP) today kicked off trainings in its 7th batch with an orientation session.

Speaking at the orientation session, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah congratulated the batch 7 participants for scaling through the rigorous screening hurdles.
The Governor's aide noted that the various screening tests were set up to ensure that selected participants in the programme are actual business owners and entrepreneurs.
Uwah took the participants through the various training components of the MEGP, and stressed that the MEGP offered only education, but also noted that the programme serves as gateway to the many other business empowerment schemes of the Akwa Ibom State Government, through the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management.

In a goodwill message at the orientation session, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Ms Lucy Ekpenyong praised Governor Udom Emmanuel's investment in human capacity development through the MEGP. Ekpenyong noted that SMEDAN is proud to associate with the numerous human capacity development programmes of the state government, especially the MEGP.

The MEGP batch VII, which kicked off today with the orientation session will run for four weeks and will see participants being taken through the time tested MEGP business education module.

HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT: MEGP BATCH VII APPLICANTS TRAINED ON CONCEPT NOTE WRITING

As part of activities organized to mark the commencement of the 7th batch of the My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP) training, a one day Business Concept Note Writing Workshop has been organized for applicants of MEGP Batch VII.

The one day Business workshop which took place earlier today at the Ibom E-Library, IBB way, Uyo was organized by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, and aimed at preparing all applicants of Batch VII for the pre-qualification interview.

Participants, who turned out in their numbers were taken through the rudiments of concept note writing by the guest facilitator, Nsikan "Netima" Essien, a business/start-up expert and alumnus of the Tony Elumelu Foundation.

The pre-qualification interview for participants is scheduled to hold on the 29 and 30 December, 2023.

DAKKADA 7TH ANNIVERSARY BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP AWARDS: GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL SPLASHES CASH GIFTS ON RUNNERS UP.

Runners up in the just concluded Dakkada 7th anniversary business and leadership awards 2022 were today presented with cash prizes courtesy of state Government.

Speaking at the brief presentation event, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah said the cash prizes were to serve as encouragement and prod the winners to do more.
The Governor's aide lauded the runners up for their tenacity and diligence, noting that everyone that was nominated were winners already.

In their separate responses, the individual runners up thanked the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel first for the Dakkada philosophy and also for instituting the awards, stressing that they have been encouraged to do more.
The Dakkada 7th anniversary business and leadership awards ceremony held on Friday 23rd September 2022 and saw five winners take home five hundred thousand naira each. The runners up who got their cash prizes today are: Alfred Lazarus and Nature-Iboro Edet who got two hundred and fifty thousand naira(N250,000) and one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) for coming second and third respectively in the community Service category.

In the advocacy Category, Akanimo Sunday took home two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) while
UnyimeAbasi Essien Ben got (N100,000) for winning second and third place respectively.

In the Creativity and Innovation Category the 2nd Position was clinched by Josephine Edidiong Akpan who got two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) while Otuekong Henry James won a hundred thousand (N100,000) for coming third.

Uduak Williams got two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) While David Essien got one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) for coming second and third in the professionalism category respectively

In the Entrepreneurship Category,
Itoro Paulinus won two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000) for coming second, while Mary Joseph took home one hundred thousand naira cash prize for the third position.

The Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr
Udom Emmanuel has described as laudable, the acceptance and owning of the Dakkada philosophy by Akwa Ibom at home and in the diaspora. Governor Emmanuel made this assertion yesterday in his remarks at the Dakkada 7th anniversary Business and Leadership award 2022. The Governor, who was represented by
the Honourable Commissioner for labour and man power planning, Mr. Aniefiok Nkom thanked the organizers of the anniversary event, noting that the positive impact the Dakkada philosophy has created has always inspired and encouraged him to do more for the youths of Akwa Ibom State.
Governor Emmanuel further described as heartwarming and encouraging, the level of acceptance of the Dakkada initiative, which he said has resulted in the proliferation of enterprises in and around the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the inspiring Dakkada Philosophy which has transformed the mindset of young Akwa Ibom youths, and inspired them to become great in their different fields of endeavours.
He also expressed gratitude to the Governor for the numerous human capacity development programmes which has been organized for the betterment of Akwa Ibom youths.
Specifically, Uwah noted that through My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme (MEGP), youths of Akwa Ibom State can now access premium business education as well as projects based assistances from Government.

In his message of Goodwill, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Youths mobilization, Mr Aniefiok Wilson Iwaudofia described the Dakkada philosophy as Governor Udom Emmanuel's legacy that will last beyond the limits of his term in office. He called on youths in the state to continue to live by the tenets of the Dakkada philosophy for their continued progress and prosperity.

High point of the event was the announcement of winners in the five different categories of the awards.
Blessing Akpan emerged winner in the community Service category, Eno Peter in the Professionalism Category, Kingsley Atang in the Advocacy category, Hanson Johnson in the creativity and innovation category, while Odudu Obong Ndiok took home the top prize for entrepreneurship Category. The prize money of five hundred thousand naira were presented to winners in each category.

The well attended event also had in attendance Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Multilateral and Donor agencies, Mr Ndianabasi Udom, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on youth mobilization, Mr. Aniefiok Iwa Udofia, Special Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development, Mrs l, Meflyn Anwana, Special Assistant to the Governor Project monitoring, Mrs, Josephine Bassey amongst others.
