HOMAGE AND UNFLINCHING ALLEGIANCE TO THE GOLDEN HELMSMAN
Your Excellency Sir,
May I place on record, my deep-seated appreciation to you Sir, for identifying publicly with purveyors of the entertainment and creative arts industry to commemorate the auspicious occasion of the 10,000-Man ARISE City Walk in Uyo.
Quite notably reminiscent of your admonition to the attendees, and indeed the generality of the viewing and listening public was the galvanizing cm positive impact of diligence, skill and creativity, as opposed to dependence on a mindset of entitlement.
You harped on money as a by-product of value creation, while submitting and rightly so, that more value creation is directly proportional to more unlocked opportunities.
Encapsulated in your memorable rendition, was the immutability and irrefutability of the virtues of hardwork, forthrightness, unity of purpose, diligence, creativity, value creation and innovative wealth acquisition in the success equation.
You, by your charge, mirrored and took cognizance of the can-do-spirit of a typical Nigerian, nay Akwa Ibomite.
Your Excellency Sir, let me further employ the liberty of this medium to recall with great dint of nostalgia, the midwifery role you played in the teething stage of my illustrious and storied sojourn in entertainment and creative arts industry.
How can I ever forget that it was at Royalty Hotel, Eket, one of your successfully manned conglomerates, way back in 2004 while I was a young university undergraduate of philosophy, that I cut my artistic umbilical cord, with regards to stand-up comedy.
Your Excellency Sir, I make bold to bring to the notice of all and sundry that the platform aforementioned namely: Royalty Hotel, Eket which you magnanimously provided for me, paved the way for my subsequent colossal status and stature in the entertainment and creative arts industry, culminating in the nationally and internationally celebrated household moniker "Okon Lagos" which I am known by today. To assert that I am eternally grateful to you Sir, would be tantamount to belabouring the obvious.
Today, by sheer providence, you have been saddled with the rare privilege of piloting the affairs of our dear State to the next level of our common heritage, and there is no gainsaying the fact that you have emerged as a square peg in a square hole.
By choosing to invest in the fortune-spinning sphere of tourism, you envision an Akwa Ibom that seeks to explore her socio-economic potentials to thrive beyond the much vaunted oil and gas sector. You have placed great faith in our teeming youthful population by earmarking the youths of our dear State as catalysts of the ARISE Agenda.
As the Golden Governor, you have extended your golden touch to the Arise Park which you have built from the throngs of ecological devastation, making what sufficed at most, as a deserted wasteland, to become the cynosure of all eyes. Now a major tourist attraction right in the heart of Uyo, our capital's metropolis, the Arise Park is a recreational nerve-centre, Disneylandesque, laced with state-of-the-arts appurtenances ranging from a serene artificial lake, a nine-hole golf course, to world class sports facilities, children's playground, restaurants and a 1000- seater capacity auditorium.From your golden personae, evokes the midas touch that turns dirt into gold, and that is precisely the magic that the ARISE Park has witnessed.
The Ibom Creative Academy is also commendably your brainchild, Your Excellency, Sir. This edifice is structured to equip filmmakers, musicians, artistes, and performing acts with the wherewithal to succeed globally. This academy, Your Excellency, is destined to take Akwa Ibom to international limelight in the make-believe business and anything ancillary thereto. With this visionary enabler, Akwa Ibom State is already on the cusp of producing Academy Award winners, Grammy Award Winners and several other internationally recognized accolades in the entertainment and creative arts industry, all thanks to you, Sir.
Sir, I pledge my unflinching support to you, and your vision for entertainers and creative artistes of Akwa Ibom State extraction in particular, and Akwa Ibom State in general. I stand as living testimony to the truism that when the seed of encouragement and support is planted in an enabled environment, then success can sprout and thrive.
Today, Your Excellency, I fly the Akwa Ibom flag proudly high against prejudices, doubts, skepticisms, misgivings and stereotypes that have overtime trailed the Akwa Ibom person, showing the whole world in the process, that making it against the odds stacked up against us as a people is a possibility.
SIR, I AM GREATLY HUMBLED THAT YOU MENTIONED MY NAME AS ONE OF THE GREAT ENTERTAINERS OF AKWA IBOM STATE DESCENT AT THE SATURDAY’S ENTERTAINER’S EVENT. On this note, I wish to express that I am readily available to deploy my human capital in any area of your administration that I may be called upon to contribute. Consider me a partner in progress, Sir.
Your Excellency, as you continue to toil in the arduous task of being the Chief Executive Officer of this Federating Unit that was birthed after a 59-year struggle, kindly have the assurance of my continued support, prayers, thoughts and kind wishes during the subsistence of your reign in power, Sir. Happy 38th anniversary in advance to our dear State, Sir.
