WHY STARTING WITHOUT RESEARCH WILL COST YOU MORE THAN YOU THINK

Many people rush into business because someone told them, This thing is profitable.
But what they don’t realize is that profit doesn’t come from excitement, it comes from understanding.

🔸 Story of Bisi (Palm Oil Business)
Bisi heard that palm oil was selling fast. She quickly borrowed money, bought plenty of kegs, and started selling.

But she didn’t ask one important question:
Who are my buyers, and how will I reach them.

She ended up with stock sitting at home for weeks, some even going bad. She lost money, energy, and confidence.

🔸 Story of Musa (Same Business)
Musa also wanted to sell palm oil. But before spending a kobo, he took one week to research.

- He checked the average prices in his area.
- He asked questions from other sellers.
- He noted down how much customers usually buy (1 litre, 5 litres, or 25 litres).
- He found out which season prices are low and when they go high.

By the time Musa started, he knew exactly where to buy cheap, how to package, and who to sell to.
Result: He sold out in 2 weeks and reinvested.

The truth: Business is not about rushing in. It’s about knowing the road before you start walking.

2. Check your competitors: What are they doing right. What can you do differently.
