It has come to my attention that false claims are being circulated by Regina, suggesting that I married her when she was 17 years old. These claims are entirely untrue and misleading.

For clarity, during my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. I further asked if she had any document to support this, and she presented her inec voter’s card, which clearly shows that she was born on October 10th, 1998. I informed her that I would keep this document in my possession, and I have done so since that day.
I have also seen a BBC interview Her mom granted after our marriage regarding her age.

According to all verifiable records, our marriage took place six years ago, which means Regina is 27 years old today. Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false and should not be accepted by the public.
The facts are verifiable and indisputable. Until this is done, I urge the public to approach all her claims with caution and discernment especially taking into account her current mental condition having started and abandoned her rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction.

Alleged ₦174m Fraud – EFCC Arraigns Three for Allegedly Defrauding UBOTEX Limited in Uyo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directorate, has arraigned Akaninyene Enefiok Archibong, Sylvanus Edet Akpan, and Glory Enefiok Archibong before Justice Maurine Onyetenu of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

They were arraigned on Friday, November 7, 2025 on twenty-two count charges bordering on stealing, conspiracy, money laundering and criminal diversion to the tune of ₦174,226,610 (One hundred and Seventy-four million, Two hundred and Twenty-six thousand, Six hundred and ten Naira).

One of the charges reads:

“That you, Akaninyene Enefiok Archibong sometime between January and December 2022, in Nigeria, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently took possession of the sum of ₦58,600,500.00 through your First Bank account number 3055162976, knowing that the money formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act, to wit: stealing by conversion, contrary to Section 18(2)(d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2022, and punishable under Section 18(3) of the same Act.”

Another count reads:

“That you, Glory Enefiok Archibong sometime in 2022, in Nigeria, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, took possession of the sum of ₦14,090,000.00 through your Zenith Bank account number 2256436893, knowing that the money formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act, to wit: money laundering and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 18(2)(d) and punishable under Section 18(3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2022.”

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to them.

In view of their pleas, prosecution counsel, Oluwatimileyin Faleye prayed the court to fix a date for trial to enable the prosecution to prove its case against the defendants. However, defence counsel, Imeh Eduk and Ndifreke Inyangette sued for a short adjournment to enable them file formal bail applications for the defendants. They also made an oral application for the third defendant on the ground of being a nursing mother.

After listening to both sides, Justice Onyetenu granted the third defendant, Glory Archibong bail in the sum of ₦30 million, with two sureties in like sum, and landed properties within the jurisdiction of the court. The court ordered that Akaninyene Archibong and Sylvanus Akpan be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The case was adjourned till January 27, 2026, for bail hearing and commencement of trial.

The defendants were arrested in Uyo, following claims of a petitioner, Mr. Ubong Bassey Okon, Managing Director of Ubotex Nigeria Limited, a building materials company located at Ifa Ikot Okpon Timber Market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

According to the petitioner, Akaninyene Archibong and Sylvanus Akpan, who worked in the company as cashier and auditor respectively, allegedly conspired and diverted company funds into personal accounts, by manipulating figures with forged authorizations on payment vouchers.

Investigations into the matter revealed that Akaninyene Archibong transferred portions of the stolen funds to his younger sister, Glory Enefiok Archibong, who played a critical role in laundering the said funds via property acquisition and constructions, aimed at concealing the source of the illicit funds.

OFFICER YERIMA BREACHED THE LAW IN THAT FACEOFF WITH NYESOM WIKE

Brushing sentiments aside, I hereby condemn in totality the actions of the Naval Officer, A.M. Yerima, who obstructed the FCT Minister from gaining access into that parcel of land, under the guise of ‘obeying superior orders.’ The duty of a junior officer to obey the orders of his superiors, even though strongly upheld in military and paramilitary circles, has its own limitations recognised by no other authority but the Supreme Court of Nigeria. I shall establish this anon.

In the recent case of Onunze vs. State (2023) 8 NWLR (Pt. 1885) 61 at 108 SC, the Supreme Court held emphatically, per Ogunwunmiju, JSC, thus:

“My Lords, the obligation to obey the orders of a superior does not include orders that are palpably illegal or manifestly unjust. Every military or police officer swears an oath upon commissioning. The Oath is not to obey all orders, it is to “preserve”, “protect” and defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria against all enemies, foreign and domestic. When an officer obeys palpably illegal orders, they become personally liable for their actions and would be expected to face court martial or official sanction for the wrongdoing.”

In the earlier decision of Nigeria Air Force vs. James (2002) 18 NWLR (Pt. 798) 295 at 324 SC, Onu, JSC, delivering the lead judgment of the Supreme Court, held firmly, subjugating military personnel to civilian authority and disparaging obedience to illegal orders, as follows:

“See the case of Pius Nwaogu v. The State (1972) 1 All NLR 149 where it was held, inter alia, that "a soldier is responsible to Military and Civil Law and it is monstrous to suppose that a soldier could be protected when the order is grossly and manifestly illegal. Of course, there is the other proposition that a soldier is only bound to obey lawful orders and is responsible if he obeys an order not strictly lawful.’"

The illegality in that order stems primarily from the fact that no service law of the military permits a serving military officer to mount guard at the private construction site of his boss, especially under suspicious circumstances like this. The retired Naval Officer ought, under the circumstances, to have engaged the civil police, if he suspected likelihood of arson or criminal trespass.

Additionally, Barr. Nyesom Wike is the equivalent of Governor of a State – he being the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. More importantly, all lands in the FCT Abuja, by section 297(2) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, belong to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. By section 302 of the same Constitution, read together with other extant Acts of the National Assembly, the President of Nigeria has delegated all powers with respect to land administration in the FCT Abuja to the Hon. Minister. Going by constitutional and administrative law, therefore, Mr. Wike stood in loco the President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces on that fateful day. Consequently, even if the superior officer were still in service, he would not disobey Mr. Wike or obstruct him from entering the land. This was an affront to the civil authority of Mr. President.

The Minister’s method may be brash; but it is legal and lawful in all respects. Rather, it is the officer who obstructed him that has breached not just the Nigerian Constitution, but also service and extant regulatory laws. For the avoidance of any doubt, section 114 of the Armed Forces Act makes military personnel criminally liable for civil offences. This means the officer in question could be arraigned before a Court Martial for obstructing a public officer from performing his public duties, et cetera.

In conclusion, celebrating the humiliation of Nyesom Wike, simply because he is a ‘big man’ or simply because he is not liked by certain persons begs the real issue here. If such intolerable conduct by the young officer is not punished or is celebrated, this may unleash a reign of terror by the men in khaki against hapless civilians – with a grin or boast that ‘we did it to Wike and nothing happened.’ This is not Nigeria of our dream!
I rest my case here.

URGENT ACTION REQUIRED AS MINISTER WIKE'S CONDUCT POSES A CLEAR THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY

The events of November 11, 2025, involving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, demand an immediate and serious response. His public disparagement of a uniformed officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces transcends mere misconduct; it represents a palpable threat to national security and institutional integrity.

A minister’s verbal assault on a military officer in uniform is an act of profound indiscipline that strikes at the core of our nation's command and control structure. It deliberately undermines the chain of command, disrespects the authority of the Commander-in-Chief, and grievously wounds the morale of every individual who serves under the Nigerian flag. Such actions erode the very foundation of discipline upon which our national security apparatus stands.

This can not be dismissed as political theatre. It is a reckless endangerment of national order. This action by Wike is clearly an indication of undermining the federal government’s authority.

Consequently, Barrister Nyesom Wike must tender an immediate and unequivocal public apology to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commander-in-Chief, the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, and the specific officer whose honour was violated.

Our nation's security must come first. It is time for decisive action, not politics of military bashing. The integrity of our Armed Forces demands nothing less.

Courage, Accountability, and Respect: A Lesson for Every Nigerian

I applaud the handsomely brilliant and disciplined young military officer who stood his ground and resisted intimidation and harassment from my dear friend and big brother, FCT Minister Wike. This is the spirit every Nigerian, young or old, poor or rich, should demonstrate! Courage without arrogance, prejudice, without drama, without violence, and without the weaponization of gender, media, or false accusations. This is my kind of person. Sometimes you have to danm every single thing and look into the eyes of the so called power that be without BLINKING and tell them the undiluted truth.

That said, courage must walk hand in hand with the rule of law. The officer must also be cautioned. Perverting the course of justice is itself a crime and cannot be overlooked. The Minister went there as the FCT Minister to see things for himself. That is within the powers of his office. Land grabbing under any guise must not be tolerated, and those who abuse public office to seize land should be called to account. Our security leadership must not be above scrutiny. The NSA should ask the CDS to investigate any unprofessional conduct by armed forces personnel involved in land matters.

Oga Wike, your words were unbecoming and unprofessional. What has your life history or university graduation got to do with the matter at hand? You cannot tell someone to shut up or use derogatory language and expect no consequence. When a man of discipline is addressed carelessly, he will respond, and sometimes that response is the very courage we should celebrate.

I know this terrain personally. A few weeks ago, a power-drunk, uninformed Nigerian police chief tried to intimidate me over the phone. I put him in his place, reminded him of his duties as an officer, and taught him a thing or two about criminal investigations. I did so without threats. I demanded accountability and professionalism. His bloated ego deflated and he hung up. Now the issues are on record and the proper processes will determine the outcome. That is how we handle abuse of power, by exposing it, documenting it, and seeking lawful redress. We can reopen cases against them even after they’ve retired and forgotten.

Let this be the lesson for all, courage and accountability. Respect for office does not mean silence in the face of wrongdoing. Likewise, power is not an invitation to insult, intimidate, or trample the rights of others. We must be brave enough to speak truth to power and wise enough to follow the law when we do.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Ensure justice for those being crushed. May we always stand for justice, dignity, and professionalism.

Wike Condemns Military Takeover Of Abuja Land, Orders Halt To Illegal Development ..Says Former Naval Chief Behind Encroachment, Vows to Resist Intimidation

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has condemned the alleged illegal takeover of a disputed land in Abuja by military personnel reportedly acting on the orders of a former Chief of Naval Staff, describing the act as lawless and unacceptable.

Wike, who personally visited the site on Tuesday after receiving reports that soldiers had driven away FCTA officials enforcing development control directives, said no individual no matter their former position would be allowed to intimidate government authorities or obstruct enforcement of the law.

“You are aware that the land departments and the Development Control have the mandate to monitor illegal development and land grabbing,” the minister said.

“When this was brought to my attention, I instructed them to ensure that nothing takes place there, as there were no legal documents—no regional approval, no valid acquisition.”

According to Wike, while officials of the Department of Development Control were on site to implement his directive, they were chased away by armed soldiers allegedly acting under the instruction of a retired senior officer.

“I was informed that the soldiers of the military had to chase them away, and I thought they were acting illegally,” Wike said. “Today, while I was in the office, I was called again that the military had taken over the place. I had to come myself to see things. It’s really unfortunate.”

He expressed shock that a person who once held a top military position could resort to such intimidation rather than follow due process.

“I don’t understand how somebody who attained that position cannot approach my office to say, ‘Look, this is what is going on.’ But simply because he’s a military man, he thinks he can use that to intimidate Nigerians. I am not one of those that will succumb to blackmail or intimidation,” the minister said firmly.

Wike also disclosed that when the FCTA officials demanded documents to justify the occupation, none were produced.

“The Director of Development Control said, ‘Bring the documents’ they don’t have them. ‘Bring approval for building’ they don’t have it. How can we continue to allow lawlessness to prevail? What about those who don’t have the military behind them? What about ordinary Nigerians?”

The minister maintained that the FCT Administration would not tolerate the misuse of military power to obstruct legitimate urban regulation, stressing that the rule of law must apply to all.

“I have spoken to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff. They assured me that the matter will be resolved. We’re not here to have a shootout with anybody or cause chaos,” Wike said.

“But I will not allow this to happen. The same way we enforce our laws in other areas is the same way it will be done here. Nobody whether a former Chief of Naval Staff or anyone else will be allowed to carry out illegal development on government land.”

Wike reaffirmed his commitment to restoring order and accountability in Abuja’s land administration, warning that the FCTA would continue to reclaim encroached areas, no matter how powerful those involved may be.
