LUKULUKU BANTASHI

For those who were old enough between the mid-80s and the 90s, Lukuluku Bantashi was a well-known comedian in the Yoruba movie industry who flourished for a very long time through his own unique cast and brand identity that no one has beaten till today. Lukuluku Bantashi Awo-Erin, as he was popularly called, was among the notable actors in the Yoruba movie industry whose stars have prematurely sunk into history.

Not much is known about Lukuluku's personal life, but his comedy brand was known far and wide across the western part of the country.

Lukuluku Bantashi built his own stage identity from his own template, and his comedy brand reigned for decades while his comical style continues to be unmatched to this day.

During his time, Lukuluku ruled the comic scenes of the industry while the likes of Epo-Tin-Tin, Baba Suwe, Ajirebi, Godogbo, James Dẹ̀pẹ́, Dẹ̀jo Tunfulu, Larondo, and others queued behind him.

Lukuluku was the most sought-after actor in the movie industry, with producers eager to feature him in their films. There was no popular movie at that time in which he did not feature, and movie viewers always looked for his face on posters or video cassette jackets. He was indeed a hot selling point that no producer wanted to miss out on.

Lukuluku Bantashi was popular for his unique comical crying style, which could crack one's ribs. He always played the role of 'an old fool' with his face painted in charcoal black. Lukuluku would always wear oversized, mismatched clothes that could throw you out of balance at a mere sight of him.

Lukuluku Bantashi showcased his artistic talents in many movies like *Yemi My Lover*, *Ti Oluwa Nílẹ̀*, *Imulẹ̀ Ìfẹ́*, *Legal Wife*, *Ami Orun*, *Itunu*, and many others before his untimely death in 1995.

The entire southwest of Nigeria was shaken to its foundation on the day Lukuluku's death was announced. The sun refused to shine, and the moon hid its glow.

A bit of history about the old national anthem, now made new again:-

The picture is that of Lillian Jean Williams, the woman that composed Nigeria's first national anthem titled "Nigeria, We Hail Thee". She was a British expatriate who as at then lived in Nigeria.

The anthem was adopted on October 1st 1960 during the celebration of Nigeria’s independence. Its music was composed by another Briton named Frances Berda.

Below are the lyrics👇.

Stanza 1

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all, and proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.

Stanza 2

Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour’d,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.

Stanza 3

O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

However, the old national anthem of Nigeria faced many criticisms, one of which was its composer not being a Nigerian. The Daily Service, a newspaper run by a political organization, Egbé Ọmọ Odùduwà, even launched a rebellious campaign against the national anthem which led to a committee being established to collect signatures as a petition.

“Nigeria, we hail thee” ceased to be the national anthem of Nigeria in 1978 after it was replaced by a new one composed by Ben Odiase, an Assistant Commissioner of Police and the then Director of Music of the Nigerian Police Band.

**AN ELEPHANT WHICH KILLS A RAT IS NOT A HERO!!!**

If a giant kills a dwarf, that is no heroic feat. If a lion kills a deer, that is no extraordinary achievement. And in the same way, if an elephant kills a rat, he should not be hailed as a hero. There is a saying in journalism that 'when a dog bites a man, that is not news. When a man bites a dog , that is news'. Greatness is not merely measured by the size of your challenges we overcome. Greatness is a ratio of our accomplishments to our abilities. Some people are so spoilt, they want a pat on their shoulders for any small success they chalk up.

Of course we should not devalue small achievements. But with that said, we should not blow them out of proportion. In other words, we must not exaggerate them. Now, there is a difference between a bully and brave person. Bullies are cowards pretending to be brave. They are insecure people, who vent their insecurity on weak and helpless people. The brave are strong in themselves. Unlike bullies, they fight for weak and helpless people. Be brave!

Today, we remember the legendary Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley, 43 years after his death.

Remembering the legendary Bob Marley 43 years after his death today (6 February 1945 - 11 May, 1981). The Jamaican singer-songwriter is the most successful, influential and iconic of all reggae star. Bob Marley was one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records. He was a committed Rastafari who infused his music with a sense of spirituality. Bob Marley left this world on 11 May 1981, after losing the battle to cancer at the age of 36. Gone too soon.

May 11 is now globally recognized as Bob Marley’s Day. A day observed by playing only the songs of the reggae maestro and showcasing the rastafarian root culture. Rest in perfect peace, Legend.

The d@rk side of Nollywood🤯

“I was asked to slėėp with a (fellow) man for a role, not once not twice in Nollywood,.." ~🇬🇭 Enock Darko makes shøcking revelations 🤯.

Entertainment is such a dark business. You may be talented you may have all that is needed but still won't be picked..

“I was ask to slėėp with a man for a role, not once not twice in Nollywood, the därk side of Nollywood is more dårker than you see on TV..."

" It's pathetic and hørrible.. there are the good ones but the bäd ones noooo, if I begin to tell you all what I went through behind the scenes to get to some shows or given a role especially when they knew am a foreigner, you will cry, trust me you will cry."

"People kiss feets just to be on the set, it also happens here in Ghana but in Nigeria it's full of groups of g@ngs, cült & circles and no one , I mean no one is allowed to talk about it because when you do, they either blácklist you or silence you, "

MONEY FEARS NOISE

You have probably wondered why music doesn't play in banks. This is because money fears noise. I have never seen billionaires in clubs where music is playing with deafening volume. They sit in clubs with low jazz music as they discuss business deals.
Whenever you see people dancing and sweating profusely to high volume music, just know that money is very absent there except for the owner of the club. When you see someone bragging about how rich they are, showing off their belongings, just know that money is soon divorcing them for money fears noise. Money is introverted.
Whenever a family begins to fight, money begins to grow wings. All of a sudden, there will be disappointments, diseases that will demand hospital bills, and other devourers that will siphon the money from the family.
If you want to create a conducive atmosphere for money, just maintain peace, and money will reside there. A troubled man is very unlucky. Avoid unnecessary arguments and passing of blame if you want financial favor to locate you.
They say money talks....But smart money listens 🎶

IRONICALLY, AFRICANS MURDERED THEIR LEADERS THAT TRIED TO SPEAK FOR THEM AGAINST EUROPEAN EXPLOITATIONS

The rest of great leaders Africa could boast of were ironically murdered by Africans themselves. Africa assassinated Congolese independent leader, Patrice Emery Lumumba. In fact most of the leaders that tried to defend and speak for Africa against imperialistic exploitation were murdered by Africans.

Thomas Isidore Noël Sankara was a Burkinabé military officer, Marxist revolutionary, and pan-Africanist who served as President of Burkina Faso. A selfless and visionary leader, he was assassinated by Africans at a young age of 37 in response to the wishes of the imperialists.

Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi was a Libyan revolutionary, politician and political theorist. That great and selfless leader from North Africa was violently murdered by Africans through the support and proxy hands of NATO. His only sin was that he was a great advocate for African liberation from imperialist exploitations.

Before bomb ended his life in 1980, Walter Rodney had created a powerful legacy. His work: HOW EUROPE UNDERDEVELOPED AFRICA has already brought a new perspective to the question of underdevelopment in Africa. His Marxist analysis exposed Europe and America and they plotted his death through his Guyanese brothers who planted a bomb in his Radio receiver and he was killed in a bomb
