Copied:

"I Was About to Jump Off the Bridge in Oshodi… Then God Sent a Stranger in Bathroom Slippers"

I was standing at the edge of the Oshodi bridge, ready to end it all.

Nobody knew what I was going through. I smiled every day. Laughed even. But deep down, I was drowning. Business had failed, rent was due, my wife had left with the kids—and it felt like God had gone silent.

That morning, I left home with just one plan: end the pain.

As I looked down at the cars speeding past, tears ran freely. I whispered, “God, if You’re still there, say something now… or forever hold Your peace.”

Silence.

Then I heard footsteps.

I turned. It was a young man—skinny, wearing bathroom slippers and a faded shirt. He didn’t look like much. But he smiled at me and said something I’ll never forget:

"You don’t look like someone who should die today."

I didn’t respond. I just stared at him, confused.

Then he said, “I don’t know what you’re going through, but God told me to walk this way today. I’ve never taken this road before.”

My legs gave out.

I collapsed right there on the pavement, crying like a baby. For the first time in months, I felt seen. I felt heard.

He didn’t quote scriptures or try to fix my life. He just sat with me. Prayed with me. And gave me ₦1,000 for food.

It wasn’t much, but it was more than money—it was proof that heaven still knew my name.

Fast forward two years.

I now run a small logistics company. I remarried my wife. I’m not rich, but I’m alive. And I smile for real now.

Sometimes, I still go to that bridge—not to jump, but to remember.

To remember the day God showed up in Oshodi… in bathroom slippers.

---

Here is the Moral

God may not come in thunder or fire. Sometimes, He comes in the form of a stranger with ₦1,000 and a smile.

Don’t give up. Help is closer than you think.

If you’re struggling silently, this is your sign: God has not forgotten you.
