JAMB CAPS for 2025/2026 admission - monitor & confirm your admission status

The JAMB CAPS for the 2025/2026 admission exercise is active. Candidates can now monitor their admission status and easily know when they have been offered admission. Once a candidate has been offered admission on JAMB CAPS, such a candidate is required to do either of two things: to accept the admission or to reject it.

Schools have already started uploading their Admission Lists on the JAMB Portal. We, therefore, advise candidates to closely monitor their admission status on JAMB CAPS to do the needful as soon as possible.

Some schools may not publish the list of admitted candidates on their own portal or notice board. So, for candidates who applied for admission in such schools, the only way to know when they have been offered admission is to check their admission status on JAMB CAPS.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for school candidates.

According to WAEC:

Subject results of 718 candidates have been cancelled.

Entire results of 177 candidates have been cancelled.

Subject results of 1,240 candidates have been withheld.

Entire results of 93 candidates have been withheld.

JAMB gives tertiary institutions an end-of-year deadline for 2025 admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive to all tertiary institutions in Nigeria to complete their 2025 admission processes before the end of the year.

👉 According to Jamb, public universities are expected to finish their admissions by October 31, 2025, while private universities have until November 30, 2025. All other tertiary institutions — including polytechnics, colleges of education, and innovation enterprise institutions — have been given a final deadline of December 31, 2025.

Institutions were cautioned to comply fully with the timelines, even if their academic sessions had yet to begin.

“Even where an institution is not ready to begin a new session, such an institution should conduct its admission and archive it,” the bulletin read.

JAMB also urged institutions that are still conducting post-UTME screening exercises to conclude them without delay to ensure they meet the stipulated deadlines.

By this directive, all admission processes must be completed within the prescribed timelines,” the Board warned.

Update: JAMB reactivates portal for uploading O'level results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) hereby informs all candidates who participated in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that the portal for uploading their O'level results has been officially reactivated.

👉 Candidates are advised to proceed to any of JAMB’s accredited centres nationwide to carry out the upload of their O'level results. This process is essential for the completion of admission procedures and must be done promptly to avoid any delays in consideration for admission into tertiary institutions.

👉 Please note that only accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres are authorised to perform this upload. Candidates are therefore urged to verify the accreditation status of any facility before proceeding.
