As someone who cooks and reviews food for a living, recreating a dish from taste alone in 45 minutes sounds like my personal nightmare 😭

There’s been a lot of chatter about matcha in Lagos and while matcha is not new and has existed for centuries I do understand it’s gone from being niche to a global lifestyle trend in the last few years.

Anyhoos in the words of , ‘if you dint like matcha then maybe you don’t like good things’

I got invited for an exclusive preview at PANU - Nigeria’s first New York & Italian inspired Panuozzo lifestyle deli café by the Smith Sisters, Taiwo & Kehinde Smith and honestly? Such a fresh concept for the Lagos dining scene.

The idea behind PANU is to blend café culture, food, lifestyle, community and experiences all in one intentional space and you can genuinely feel that the moment you walk in.

The interiors are warm, contemporary, minimal and relaxed with such a cozy “New York meets Lagos” energy. From the stainless steel menus to the adaptable layout and lifestyle café vibe, it’s the kind of place you can work from, have meetings, create content, dine with friends or just spend time.

And then by night, the space transforms into “The Blank Space” - a private venue for intimate dinners and curated experiences

Now let’s discuss what we had because whewwwww!!!

The Dubai Chocolate Latte??? Crazy in the BEST way possible. Thick pistachio foam, Dubai chocolate, knafeh-rim… super indulgent and delicious.

The Salted Caramel Latte? One of my favourites! Rich, balanced and tasted so premium.

And the FOOD?!?! That Prime Steak Panuozzo sandwich was MADDDD. Served with house-made chips and their delicious signature dip and omg… THAT DIP 😭

Honestly PANU feels immersive, intentional and community-driven rather than just another restaurant and I can already tell this place is going to become a huge favourite for many!
