The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has shed light on its recent meeting with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, while expressing strong confidence in returning to power during the 2027 elections.
The delegation paid the visit on Saturday at Obasanjo's penthouse home inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State. It was headed by the party's National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, accompanied by several senior officials.
Key members of the team included former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, Deputy National Chairman Taofeek Arapaja, ex-Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, and Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, among others. They were welcomed by the Ogun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Tella, and other local party executives.
Following their arrival, the group engaged in a private discussion with the former president that lasted approximately 40 minutes.
Briefing reporters afterward, Turaki stated that the purpose of the visit was to consult Obasanjo for advice, encouragement, and strategic insights as the party's new leadership team takes charge.
