gree of our founder and CEO, Mr. NELSON TEMIENOR TUEDON, Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (FCIPM, 2006), Senior Certified Professional of the Society of Human Resource Management, USA (SHRM – SCP), and Certified Coach of Coach Training Alliance, USA. He is supported by equally competent collaborators, colleagues, associates, and resource persons. Nelson Temienor Tuedon graduated BA (HONS) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife in 1978 and then proceeded to obtain a Certificate in Personnel Management (Kingston, UK in collaboration with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited) after which he obtained a master’s degree in industrial and labor Relations (UNILAG), and a PGD in Journalism (NIJ, Lagos)

Apart from basic academic qualifications, he has attended a plethora of Management programs at home in Nigeria and in the UK and USA. He is also a TalentSmart Inc. (USA) trained and certified Emotional Intelligence assessor and trainer as well as a professional member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). He started out on his management career in 1981 with The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria where he worked in various capacities in the company's Human Resource Planning, Recruitment, Industrial Relations, Policy Development, and Public Affairs Departments. He was also a Senior Human Resource Planner in Brunei Shell Petroleum, Brunei Darussalam, South-East Asia. He left Shell as Head, Human Resource Services responsible for Human Resource matters in the corporate headquarters of that organization in 1999 and entered the worlds of publishing and consulting. He published the Oil Times news magazine for a couple of years and under the umbrella of the firms TT Managers & Consultants and Ixora Integrated Services Limited which he founded, executed Competency Development and Assurance projects and Human Resource training programs as well as a Leadership Study for Shell Nigeria. He also executed training programs for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and for the defunct Nigeria Electric Power Authority (NEPA) as well as several publicly subscribed programs. He was hired in 2011 by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, a new Federal Government Agency responsible for regulating Local Content Development in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria to develop and help implement their organization structure, establish their Human Resource Management Function, develop, and institute Human Resource policies and procedures, resource the organization and handle organization effectiveness matters. He concluded that assignment in June 2018 and relaunched his consultancy and coaching endeavors under the banner of The Lyceum Limited which now constitutes the Business Lyceum arm of the larger TOGTEY Consultancy & Communications Limited which he founded in 2023 to give further gait to the business and include his creative endeavors as well. Among other top-level jobs and publicly subscribed Business Workshops, The Lyceum executed three top-management strategy workshops for Afam Power Plc and also developed a Standard Operating Procedure for their Human Resource Management Function. Nelson Temienor Tuedon has authored the following professional books and paper:
1. Human Resource Management - An on-the-job Perspective published in 2006, the year he was admitted to the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
2. The Role of Human Resource Management in Good Governance – a paper presented at Trithel’s annual conference held at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Lagos on 15th – 17th September 2009 and published in 2010 in the book "Good Governance: The Key to Corporate and Nigerian Prosperity".

An upcoming online news magazine, OilTimes, solicits articles that critically examine and analyze news, issues, events, and general current affairs in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, host communities, and environs from interested writers.

About the magazine

OilTimes is a development advocacy, lifestyle, business, and socio-cultural multimedia communications platform focused on the Nigerian oil and gas industry and its operating areas.

The magazine shall endeavor through elevated journalism to connect the industry with the people and the people with the industry in the context of “living with oil”. It will interrogate, analyze, report, and showcase industry achievements and the developmental impact of oil and gas operations and aim to foster understanding, cooperation, and progress on all sides particularly regarding the social performance of the industry.

OilTimes is to celebrate both the people of the industry and the people of the communities that host them and provide readers and viewers more wholistic and vibrant perspectives to what traditionally has remained a rather dour view of the industry, their operations, and their hosts.

Criteria for acceptance of articles

To be acceptable for publication, articles must meet the following editorial criteria -

1. Objectivity and fact-based analysis
2. No ethnic or tribal bias or slant
3. No foul or deprecatory language
4. Minimal use of artificial intelligence assistance, if any!
5. Language and writing style should be simple and reader-friendly
6. Come with supportive illustrative photographs and/or recorded videos
7. Minimum of 2,000 words after editing; but some articles below 2,000 words may be accepted for publication based on their subject matter and relevance but may not be eligible for payment
8. All articles should be produced in editable Microsoft Word format, double-spaced, 12pts font size, and submitted electronically.

Acceptance and payment for articles for publication

Subject to length, detail, relevance, and currency amongst other factors, and at the discretion of the publishers, payment per article accepted for publication shall range between N5,000 and N15,000.

Writers may submit as many articles as they please at any time with their names and contact details explicitly stated.

Full credit shall be given to writers of articles accepted for publication with clear bylines and professional headshots.

Writers shall be contacted directly once their article is accepted for publication and advised as to the applicable rate. Payment shall be made once an article is confirmed with the writer for publication.

Rates for high-level professional and technical articles may be negotiated where necessary.

Companies and other stakeholders in the industry may submit stories, reports of their events, and articles or write-ups for publication for a token fee.

All articles and materials accepted for publication are subject to the editorial policy of the publishers as enunciated above and may be edited accordingly.
