The firstborn is often given the royal treatment when it comes to screen time. Parents are cautious, trying to limit TV time and make sure their child is only exposed to educational content. It’s all about the “right” balance—every show is researched, and there’s a clear plan for how to introduce screen time.
When the second baby comes along, things change. The firstborn is already comfortable with TV and devices, and the secondborn often ends up watching their sibling’s shows. While parents might have been strict about screen time with the first, the reality is that the second child may end up watching more TV just because of the chaos that comes with balancing two kids.
Both approaches come from a place of love, but as the family grows, so does the understanding that sometimes it’s okay to let things slide a little. It’s about doing the best you can with what you’ve got. 📺👧
