Story time: How I unfollowed someone I met in an engagement group 👀😂
I joined a group where members agreed to support one another by following and engaging with each other’s content.
Me, I followed everybody because, abeg, if we agreed to support each other, I’ll do my part. 😂
But some people came with their own strategy. 😭
They would either refuse to follow you completely, or follow you today and quietly unfollow you later.
And me, I’m a sharp girl. 😂
Okro for okro. If you unfollow me, I’m unfollowing you too. Simple!
But then there was this particular lady…
Her posts just didn’t resonate with me.
And personally, I can’t force myself to like or write “Nice one 👌🏾” under something I genuinely don’t agree with or connect with.
So I simply stopped engaging with her posts. I didn’t insult her, confront her, or tell her anything. I just kept scrolling.
Besides, according to her, those posts were her style sometimes intentionally provoking people, dragging people, or attaching engagement to certain topics.
And that was where the matter became interesting… 👀
Was I wrong for refusing to engage with her posts because they didn’t align with me, even though we were in an engagement group?
Because now, I’m wondering… does joining an engagement group mean you must engage with EVERYTHING someone posts? 🤔
Let’s discuss this one in the comments. 👀👇🏾
