THE FOLLY AND THE FUTILITY OF MORTAL WISDOM!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY IT SEEMS YOU'RE THE ONLY MAD IN THE CHURCH CROWD?
=============================
Yesterday,I told us that this was from my personal perspective,that I oftentimes feel how can everyone else be wrong and I'm the only one right? At least in the church!
I also said I'm far from perfect or a saint,that infact,you reading this,may be far better than me! But the truth remains that a lot has gone wrong in the Church of God today, and a few are carrying the burden. I pray you are one of the few!
We shall concentrate on Christ Jesus' Own Words;
42. But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
44. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
45. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
(Mar 10: 42-45)
Today, from the pulpit to the pew and back, everyone wants to be served and worshipped. Especially from the pulpits... Pastors/wives, elders, deacons, all church workers, even choristers and instrumentalists, etc. And this has led to the subversion of the ethics Christ Jesus laid down for Christianity.
Because of this,many vices have been introduced into the church... conspiracy,envy, jealousy, plots and counter plots,false allegations and witnesses, blackmailing,subtle threats and eventual ex*****on of threats to those who refused to fall into line,and sexual immoralities,etc!
To fulfill these fleshly desires, different subtle sins were introduced into the church...from new strange doctrinal introductions and manipulations...(mostly from the pastors and elders) down to indecent dressing loose talks and jokes formerly forbidden in the midst of the Body of Christ Jesus.
And one of the mostly encouraged and apparent is the unethical and unothodox method of raising money,in order to gain influence and power. ALL THESE THAT MAY BE SERVED AND WORSHIPPED INSTEAD OF GOD! Some pastors you knew before become total strangers to you.
One of the subtle dangers we must guard against as Christians is to allow our understanding, even definition, of the Christian life be determined by these two sources; our own understanding (we will never be hard enough on our passivity toward obedience) or our contemporary Christian culture (it will be defined more by morality than spirituality).
There is only one place, and the only safe place, to define Christianity and that is the Bible. And there is only one pure model to look upon to see Biblical Christianity in action; the Lord Christ Jesus. So, based on the scriptural definition of Christianity...the Bible, and the scriptural model of Christianity...the Lord Christ Jesus, we may simplify our walk with Him in obedience to His Word by one word; self-denial. This truth is captured in a short statement by our Lord...Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
In this verse, Christ Jesus points us to the process of walking with Him or living out the Christian life. First, there is desire...“if anyone would come after me”. Notice an important truth about desire. If true, it will always have action. The next step in the Christian life is crucial. Without this one, the next two cannot occur and the true Christian life not lived. This step is “let him deny himself.”
The whole of the Christian life lies here; the continual determination and exercise of the will to say “no” to self-interests and self-desires by putting the interests of Christ Jesus and others ahead of one’s own. Basically, it is what is stated by our Lord in today’s scripture...“I came not to be served, but to serve.”
So, what would a life of serving, not being served look like? It is in our attitudes. To live a life of selfless service to others like Christ Jesus, be convinced we really don’t exist to be served. I am afraid a lot of Christians are too quick to look how they are being served, in their churches, by their brothers and sisters, and their families. This is a bad place to go for it will produce a critical spirit for we always fail in our service to one another.
To avoid such disappointment, develop the Biblical heart that realizes we don’t exist to be served, but to serve. The next attitude to develop comes through prayer. Make praying to be a servant a priority and be specific in asking God to do this. Ask Him to let us see people as He sees them. Then ask Him to move us into actions. He will. Be sensitive as He does and obey as He does.
The desire to acquire the wealth and power that can attract being served and worshipped,is what has led many pastors into sorcery and occultism... and in the process sell their souls to the devil. AND THE THING IN THESE THINGS IS THAT ANYONE WHO DARES TO DIFFER IS SILENCED THROUGH PERSECUTION AND OTHERWISE.
Serve, not be served. That is the Biblical definition of Christianity as modeled by Him who is Christianity. May we embrace both for His glory!
Yet,today,even today, we no longer follow the ANCIENT LANDMARKS as ordered by our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHOSE WORD IS SETTLED IN HEAVEN(CANNOT BE CHANGED) AND HE WHO HONOURS HIS WORD FAR ABOVE HIS NAME (PS.138:2)
Rather,the evil that can't even be found in the world thrives among Christians in the church...what a sad reality! And it's even promoted by our topmost senior pastors who we should look up to, to shine the light of Christ Jesus!
Today, pastors birthday celebrations are carnivals where the wealth meant to expand God's Work and Kingdom,which they hypnotized members to give to them is flamboyantly displayed in wantoness .Where then lies God's Glory. Where in the entire Bible did Christ Jesus flaunt wealth?
Dare to talk and their immense cult like followership will call for your head. They move around with heavily paid government security machine,while teaching the flock to pin their pictures on their dresses for protection. They jet around the world like their backyard, while millions of sacrificial followers can't afford one decent meal daily.
When the followers dare summon courage to complain, they're hushed with a pulpit sermon of poverty being a sin,and poor people suffering because of their sins...the same people whose pockets you drain with craftiness to become wealthy! And you think God isn't watching?
Because of these pastors,tithing and offerings have become a widely controversial subject... something that would have NEVER been if tithes and offerings were religiously utilized for the purpose they're meant.
While not contesting the house of God not being beautiful,but when competition for the most biggest and beautiful auditoriums become a priority at the expense of souls, I'M COMPELLED TO WONDER WHY GOD ALLOWED SOLOMON'S TEMPLE(A PLACE HE HONOURED WITH HIS PRESENCE) TO BE DESTROYED,IF HE HAD MORE INTEREST IN BEAUTIFUL AUDITORIUMS MORE THAN LIVES!
PRAYER: “Father, help me to see I really am not to live for myself at any time in the fleeting life of mine.”
“How far and wide would our influence for Christ Jesus be if we truly practiced what He commands?.” 🙇🙏!
STRANGE FIRE ON THE ALTAR! (LEV.10:1-3)
[PART THREE]
🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥
WELCOME BACK 🙏!
We have done WORSHIP MUST BE REVERENT IN PART TWO!
👉 FINALLY ON THIS, WORSHIP MUST BE GOD-FOCUSED.
Then the last part of :3 says: “So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.”
That’s just a little sentence, but it’s amazing if you remember that Nadab and Abihu, the two men who offered the “strange fire” were two of Aaron’s own sons. He had just watched fire come from the presence of God and “consume” them, and they died, right there before his eyes!
Can you imagine, your two children struck down by God right there in front of you? But Moses immediately told Aaron that God had said;
“By those who come near Me, I will be treated as holy.”
And it’s then that that last little sentence says;
“So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.”
Moses was telling Aaron that he needed to keep in mind the seriousness of what he was doing in worship, and not dishonor God in any way...even when he watched his own sons die before his eyes. In other words, his respect for the Lord was to be greater than anything he showed towards men...ANY/ALL men, even his own sons!
This shows us that our worship is to be God-focused, respecting God, more than anyone or anything else.
We need to hear that, because too often we focus on what other people think about our worship: what does the community think about it; or how does the media perceive it; or how does this or that person feel about it...but we have to realize that there is a greater Guest with Whom we are to be concerned. Our focus is to be on GOD, not anyone else, when we worship.
Forget the optics...yes, our most important focus in worship is not to be on our guests and how to please them,as we are wont to do today. We adulterate worship to keep members...as if bringing and keeping genuinely saved members depend on our wisdom and power.
👉Our most important focus is not to be on whoever has the most money
👉Our most important focus is not to be on the power structure of the church
👉Our most important focus in worship is not to be “what do people think”
👉Our most important focus in worship is to be GOD! What does GOD think? What does GOD see? How does GOD feel about what is going on here?
See, we can make a lot of people happy and fill a lot of seats by focusing on entertainment more than worship, like we talked about. But we have to ask ourselves: who are we here to please? The Bible says we are here to please GOD!
No one else besides God is to take center stage in our hearts and minds in worship. This is the danger in some of the churches that promote “celebrity” pastors, or worship leaders, or soloists. The purpose of worship is not to make celebrities out of pastors or worship leaders or soloists. The only “celebrity” at the center of Biblical Worship is GOD!
We need to be careful that nothing we do in worship takes away from the attention we give to God.
Let's review again the strange fire and its effects.
👉WHAT IS A STRANGE FIRE?
A strange fire is an unauthorised or unholy offering brought before God. It looks spiritual outwardly, but lacks divine backing or purity of heart.
A Strange fire is man-initiated, not God-commanded
(Leviticus 10:1):
Nadab and Abihu acted presumptuously without instruction. Worship must be as God has prescribed.
It is often driven by pride or performance
(1 Samuel 13:9-13):
Saul’s offering was strange because he acted out of fear and pride, not obedience.
Strange fire seeks attention, not God’s glory
(Matthew 6:1-5):
Any service meant to impress people rather than please God is a strange fire.
It may be mixed with impurity (Malachi 1:7-10):
When people offer polluted sacrifices, God rejects it, no matter how religious it looks.
Biblical Example: Ananias and Sapphira brought an offering that looked holy but was mixed with deceit
(Acts 5:1–11).
👉THE DANGER OF OFFERING STRANGE FIRE!
Strange fire provokes divine judgment and hinders God’s Presence from manifesting in our lives.
It invites divine displeasure (Leviticus 10:2):
God responded with fire not as approval, but as judgment.
It cuts people's destiny short. (Numbers 3:4):
Nadab and Abihu died without fulfilling their priestly purpose.
It opens the door to demonic deception (1 Timothy 4:1):
When people embrace strange fire, they often fall into doctrines of devils.
It quenches the true fire of God (1 Thessalonians 5:19):
Carnality and compromise can hinder the move of the Holy Spirit.
Biblical Example: King Saul lost his throne because he offered strange fire by taking on a priestly role unlawfully
(1 Samuel 13:13–14).
👉HOW TO AVOID STRANGE FIRE!
We must maintain a heart of reverence and obedience to avoid offering what God has not ordained.
Know and follow God’s instructions (Exodus 30:7–9):
God gave Aaron clear instructions on incense...anything else was forbidden.
Serve God with a pure heart (Psalm 24:3–4):
Clean hands and a pure heart are essential for acceptable worship.
Be filled with the genuine Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18):
Strange fire often comes when people serve without the Spirit’s leading.
Avoid imitation; seek authentic encounters
(John 4:24)
God desires worship in spirit and truth, not religious performance.
Biblical Example: Abel’s offering was accepted because it was offered in faith and sincerity (Genesis 4:4).
The fire that comes from heaven purifies, empowers, and glorifies God. But the strange fire from man’s will, pride, or sin brings judgment. In our worship, ministry, and service, we must ensure we offer only what God desires. Let us purify our motives, align our actions with God’s Word, and seek authentic encounters with the Holy Spirit.
It is not enough to bring fire...it must be fire approved by heaven.
May God help us in Christ Jesus' Name Amen 🙇🙏!
