WHY SMART PEOPLE DON'T CHASE FAME

Our world is obsessed with fame.

To any one growing in this generation, the best advise would be this: Seek to know rather than to be known.

Those who seek to know are the ones chasing knowledge, choosing self-improvement, pulling lessons out of every disappointment, and refusing to over celebrate their wins.

They are not in a hurry to impress, announce, or perform.

They are busy becoming.

Funny thing is, those who truly choose to know often end up being known anyway — just that being known was never the goal.
And if you look closely, the people living the best lives are often the quietest ones.
Low noise. High clarity. Deep roots.

The world, at its core, revolves around knowledge.
When you know, people eventually seek you.
Not because you shouted the loudest, but because substance always attracts attention.

That’s why I find the popular question interesting — wealth or fame?
Personally, I wouldn’t even blink before answering.
Because fame, more often than not, comes without impact, without success, and without real wealth.
It’s visibility without value.

Knowledge builds capacity.
Capacity builds impact.
Impact attracts wealth.
And fame, if it comes at all, arrives last — uninvited.

So again, seek to know rather than to be known.
Everything else aligns naturally.

The year is gone...

It's time to count your wins and losses, wave them both goodbye and run with the lessons.

What you did right or didn't do right would not count if you change as you enter the new year.

What makes the year NEW is the changes you make to what you do or you'll get the same old results you've always been getting.

So if you like anything you did this year, don't stop in 2026....and if you want to change anything you did, take the steps in the right direction today.

It's Clarity season. It's dew season. Soon the rain would fall. I hope you catch some cold then.

HAPPY NEW MONTH!

In December, do not mistake crude talk for truth. You can be bold about something that's not correct.

Learn how to speak.

Invest in yourself, research on human behavior and be logical.

If you don't do that you'll say things that are either wrong or not right for that moment and still not realize it until it's too late.

THE LIFE OF AN ENGINEERING STUDENT IN SDU, OZORO.

When people say make the best use of your free time, it seems like an easy thing to do until you try to actually do it.

As an engineering student, it has always been a constant hazzle of trying to balance my academics, passions, social life and spiritual life (Ohh 😩).

If I check up on you this period ehnnn... (May the Lord give you understanding).

No one prepared me for this phase. I got all the advice about setting priorities without that one important advice on how to balance priorities...🥲

Now, I feel caught up in a trap of having so many priorities and so little time.

I guess it's one of the burdens of the VISIONARY 😂 💔

FOR NOW, NA GOD HAND I DEY🙏😩

THE WORLD HAS CHANGED 🌍

This morning, I woke up with plans.
I told myself I’d spend my morning working on a book project — and I actually did.
After a few hours, I took a nap, woke up bored, and decided to take a long stroll.

I passed through streets I don’t normally go through — just wandering, trying to breathe a little life into a dull day.
Along the way, I saw some buildings I’d never noticed before.

Two, in particular, caught my attention.

The first was what used to be a bookstore.
I could tell from the old, faded signpost that still stood proudly in front — even though the place was now a gambling store.

The second was what used to be a brewery.
A massive, beautiful structure in its time — but now, so old, so empty, and completely abandoned. It was all just dust and memory.

And I thought to myself — how quickly things change.
What was once magnificent can become irrelevant.
What was once modern becomes outdated.

But then again, not every old building ends up abandoned.
Some still stand tall because their owners saw the signs early — they renovated, they repainted, they maintained.

That’s life.
Change is constant.
Relevance is not.

If you can’t recognize when times are shifting, you’ll get left behind — even if you once stood tall.

So, yes — hold on to your values, but don’t hold on to your methods.
The values anchor you; the methods must evolve.

The world has changed.
It’s still changing.
Don’t just survive in it — grow with it. 🌱

CHOOSE YOUR GAME WISELY 🎯

In life, you’re always playing a game.
Whether you realize it or not — every move, every thought, every decision — is part of one.

It’s always going to be either:
A game against yourself,
A game against others,
or a game by others.

Now, I’ll always recommend the first one.
The game against yourself is the game of growth.
It’s where your only competitor is you.
You wake up wanting to beat yesterday’s version of yourself — your record, your attitude, your strength, your peace.
It’s a quiet game, but it’s the one that changes lives.

Many people, however, prefer the second game:
The game against others.
Now, this game isn’t bad in itself.
But when it’s played without the first, it becomes toxic.
It turns into jealousy.
A contest of who shines brighter, who wins faster, who’s more seen.
And in that chase, people often lose their humanity.

But here’s something you must remember:
Even when you’re playing against others, your best chance at victory is to focus on yourself.
Because the real win always begins within.

And then, there’s the third game…
The one I learnt not to play by experience.
It’s the game by others.
In other words, a losing game.

How do you know when you’ve started playing their game?
Simple — when you no longer influence the rules.
When you stop leading yourself and start dancing to someone else’s tune.

Let me paint it this way:

If you’re a calm person and you find yourself surrounded by loud, rough, or toxic people who try to drag you into chaos, the moment you respond by becoming just like them, you’ve started playing their game.

You might win for a moment, but you’ll lose yourself in the process.

Not every fight deserves your energy.
Some “wins” cost you your peace.

So today, as you step into a new month, choose your game wisely.
Play against yourself.
Improve yourself.
That way, you’ll always have an edge in the game against others.

But learn to back off when the game starts feeling like theirs.
It’s not weakness but wisdom — because you can never truly win a game that isn’t yours.

MY BUS TRIP TAUGHT ME SOMETHING TODAY!

The bus I boarded on was about to hit the road and every passenger was making adjustments to their sitting positions in order to have the best comfort possible that a public bus could give.

A preacher came by one of the windows — the one that was just by my right. Those people who come around motor parks praying for safe trips for passengers and then ask for the passengers to financially support their ministry. I prefer to call them commercial pastors, but that's a topic for another day.

This particular one wore a white caftan and was stretching an envelope through the window and in the direction of passengers.

In my mind, I already knew I was not going to pay him attention. Not when I'm returning to the University — Land of Debits, as my coursemates nicknamed it.

He eventually stretched it in my direction and I didn’t pay any attention. Then he stretched it towards a girl who had revealing clothes on.

“I dey go church?”
The girl snapped at the preacher, and he quickly turned his attention to another person.

Fast-forward to some minutes later, we were on the road already and hit a very bad pothole.

It was followed by a loud scream of “Jesus!”

This scream came from the same girl.

In that moment, I realized how quick fear can strip us of our pretence and reveal what truly sits in our hearts.
For all her boldness and dismissal of the preacher, that single jolt brought out something raw — something honest.
Maybe we don’t really lose faith as much as we hide it until life shakes it out of us.
And maybe that’s why some people only find God in potholes.

I believe we don't all get to have the same enthusiasm for certain things as others do. But deep down we all have a belief for it in our hearts.

Whether it is Culture, Habits or Religion, we're more alike than we think.

THIS YEAR HAS TAUGHT ME THREE HARD LESSONS:

1. You don't have all the time in the world to prepare for anything and even the time you're sure you have can be taken away by something unforeseen. If you have a plan, prepare now.

2. You're going to lose people and things as you journey in life. Grieve them but the only way you'll help yourself is to value whatever's left and go on.

3. Be straight up with your desires. The more you think about it, the less likely it is that you'll do it.

ONIONS MADE ME CRY AGAIN.

While cooking yesterday, I noticed something.

I was dicing onions and tears rolled down my face.
But then I remembered — years ago, I used to help my mum make meat pies for her pastry business.
One of my main jobs? Dicing onions. And I did that a lot.

As an Engineer, I definitely can’t explain the science behind it, but after a year of doing that five times a week, I realized something —
my eyes stopped watering as much.

Maybe I got so used to the chore… or maybe my eyes just learned not to cry anymore.

Surprisingly too, I beat a long-time raw-onion-eating addiction.
(Pretty sure I ate the onions meant for my whole lifetime that year 😅)

That got me thinking...

People build immunity to pain the same way.
Maybe that guy doesn’t show affection anymore because of too many heartbreaks.
Maybe she doesn’t believe compliments because of the lies that once came wrapped in them.
Maybe someone isn’t “cold-hearted” — they’re just tired of being burned.

WALK WITH ME 👣

When someone stops showing emotion, it’s not always pride.
Sometimes, it’s protection.
Sometimes, it’s their eyes learning not to water anymore.

And maybe… what we call strength is just numbness in disguise.

They’ll heal with time — just like me, slicing onions after a while —
and they’ll feel it again, without breaking this time.

BEING NEUTRAL DOES NOT HELP YOU!

A stranger gets an impression of you the very first time he sees you. He'll usually get it off your looks or how you talk and we also do the same thing.

So you see, speaking like your values gets people to know who you are on time.

Find a way to always let your values show in your conversations. It's how you attract the right people to your life.

Those who share the same beliefs would find you interesting, those who don't will 'usually' back away.

Today, decide to keep your personality strong and dump being neutral in speech.
