Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 38-year-old businesswoman, Iwebema Ogechi Peace, after allegedly intercepting a large consignment of co***ne concealed in her luggage while she was preparing to travel to Beijing, China.

According to the NDLEA, the suspect was arrested on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the departure hall of Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, as she was about to board a Qatar Airways flight to Beijing.

The agency said the arrest followed credible intelligence, which prompted officers to conduct a thorough search of her checked luggage. During the inspection, operatives reportedly discovered four large parcels of co***ne carefully concealed inside a professionally constructed false bottom in her suitcase.

The recovered co***ne reportedly weighed a combined 7.5 kilograms, making it a significant drug seizure.
