A man has claimed he was dismissed from his job after refusing to lead the opening prayer at his workplace.
According to his account, he had just resumed work as a new employee when he was called upon to lead the opening prayer. He said he politely declined, explaining that he had deconstructed from Christianity and no longer identified with the faith.
The man alleged that his decision did not sit well with his employers and that he was informed the following day that his employment had been terminated.
His story has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with many debating religious freedom in the workplace and whether employees should be required to participate in religious activities as part of their job.
