S*X IS NOT FOR ADULTS
Yes, you read that correctly. S*x is not for children—and it is not simply for “adults” either.
Some years ago, I had the privilege of speaking with a group of junior secondary school girls. During the session, one of them asked, “Is it wrong to have a boyfriend when we are of age?”
I responded by asking, “Who is a boyfriend?” Many people casually describe a boyfriend as just a male friend with no strings attached. But that is not accurate. A boyfriend is a male partner in an unmarried romantic relationship. The same applies to a girlfriend.
The truth is, age alone does not qualify anyone for romance or s*xual activity. Turning 18 and being labeled an “adult” by society is not a license for s*x. Likewise, being 25, 30, 40, or older does not justify engaging in romantic or s*xual relationships outside of marriage.
Just as marriage is not meant for children, s*x is not meant for individuals simply because they are adults—it is meant for those who are married. Regardless of age, any s*xual activity before or outside of marriage goes against God’s design.
As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:3:
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication.”
S*x is meant for marriage. Within marriage, it is:
Sacred
Pleasurable
Godly
Honourable
Inspiring
Healing
A form of fellowship
A partnership
