Within the Jukun culture, it is considered proper etiquette to remove one's footwear and kneel before serving one's husband. Can you confirm the validity of this custom?

David Atsu now I know you knows nothing.... Listen boy!

The Aku UKA is not limited to Wukari .. Because you heard AKU UKA of Wukari? AKU UKA means king that's more than other kings, the tying of her capital Wukari to it is because, the practice of tying a monarch’s title to a capital city or ancestral homeland is a universal concept in political history known as toponymic titling.

Monarchs link their names directly to geographic locations like Benin, Ife, or Wukari to establish territory, authority, and lineage through five primary mechanisms:

1. The Principle of Territorial Sovereignty

In ancient times and the feudal era, a king did not just rule a group of people; they legally owned the land. Tying the title to a capital or territory explicitly defines the borders of their power. So, you people only have Tor Tiv and not Tor Gboko because the land you're occupying is part of the Jukun kingdom, so he is a chief.. and the title was first given by the Jukuns before it was later upgraded to the British..

The Example: The Oba of Benin traditionally proclaims dominion over the kingdom centered in Benin City. It signals exactly where his spiritual and political authority starts and ends.

2. The Seat of Power (The Capital City Effect)

Before the creation of modern countries, empires operated as powerful city-states that expanded outward. The capital city was the heart of the empire's wealth, military force, and administrative power. As done in Nigeria before the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorate, the Central Nigeria was been governed by the Jukun kwararafa people .

The Example: In the Yoruba kingdom, the Ooni of Ife is anchored to Ile-Ife, universally revered as the cradle of Yoruba civilization and spirituality. Ruling the capital city grants the monarch ultimate legitimacy over the broader cultural diaspora.

3. Anchoring Legitimacy to the Spiritual Center

In many cultures, the capital city is not just a political hub, but a sacred ground containing ancestral shrines, royal burial sites, and creation grounds.

The Example: The Aku Uka of Wukari is the spiritual and traditional ruler of the Jukun Kingdom. The title binds the ruler to the physical town of Wukari, where the ancestral gods and shrines of the Kwararafa empire reside.

4. A Solution for Lack of Royal Surnames

Historically, true monarchs do not use family last names (surnames) like everyday citizens do. To distinguish between different kings named "John" or "Oba," the territory serves as their identifier. The Example: Calling someone the Queen of England (or historically the King of England) immediately separates them from a monarch of Spain or Denmark, using geography as the ultimate royal badge of identity.5. Colonial and Legal Standardization

During the colonial era, European administrators needed a uniform system to map, record, and gazette traditional rulers for taxation and governance. They preferred standard formulas—[Title] of [Location]—to easily document regional structures.

The Example: Many titles were officially formalized by colonial governments to match a specific geographical local government area or capital town, ensuring administrative clarity.

So, you should know that your Tor Tiv is a chief and not a king okay.. after all the title was given by Jukun people that you're disrespecting today... So, try get sense because knowledge is far from you... Then it was Tor Agbande before the British colonies upgraded it to Tor Tiv... Not Tor Gboko... E get why!

It's Brave's O'clock 😎
