Rattlesnakes have a superpower most people never hear about.

They can choose not to kill you.

When a rattlesnake strikes, most people expect venom
teeth, pain, collapse
the classic movie scene.

But the real biology is stranger.

Rattlesnakes use venom control.
They decide in the middle of the strike how much venom to release.
Full dose.
Half dose.
A tiny drop.
Or none at all.

A dry bite.

It looks just as fast
just as sudden
but delivers no venom at all.

Why does this happen

Because venom is energy.
It takes days to rebuild.
It is expensive for the snake and essential for hunting.

If the snake wants to warn, not kill
