ADESUWA
(A story of resilience, hope and fate)
In the village of Uromi lived a family of seven. A woman, her husband and their five children. The first three were girls and the last two were boys. Iyare, Osayi, Itohan, Osagie and Esosa were their names accordingly.
As her name implies, Adesuwa was born into a rich Family. His father was an influential engineer while is mother was a civil servant. She worked in the government sector for almost two decades. Adesuwa lost her both parents when she was still in the secondary school, when she was about to write her SSCE. Her parents was atta*cked by some hood*lums on their way to the airport for a vacation with Adesuwa and her other siblings. The hood*lums shot the car until it got dam*aged. Adesuwa and her siblings was fortunate to survived the incident while their both parents who sat at the front seat lost their lives in the process. It was a trag.ic experience for the family. Investigation was made about the incidence and no result of found.
Adesuwa and her siblings later completed their education with the help of their uncle. He saw them through their schools until they got married and started living on their own. She got married to Omomoh. He was a very hardworking man who took care of his responsibilities without flicking an eye. He graduated from the university of Benin (UNIBEN) and couldn't secure a job there after. They continue managing with his consistent farming. Omomoh didn't relent until he got a job with a firm with a good pay. His family life change as they began living comfortably.
Adesuwa didn't allow the thought of her parents death to affect her own life not until her husband got missing and it became obvious to her that she'll have to face the reality on her own.

The atmosphere was tense, unfriendly and hostile that everyone around could feel the heat of the scorching sun. Adesuwa was not left out as she sat under a shade to rest from the market runs.
The thought of her parents death overwhelmed her heart as she couldn't control the tears that was running down from her eyes. Her missing husband was the next thought that came to her mind.
Omomoh Adesuwa's husband went to his office in the morning as usual and didn't return that day. His number went off and none of his colleague or even boss seems to know his wear about. All angle and ways to look for him prove abortive. In fact, his family and bose did what is expected of them to look for Mr. Omomoh but he was nowhere to be found.
Adesuwa accepted her faith and carried the responsibility of her children and herself. Even though it is naturally a man's responsibility in shouldering the house but when a woman has no choice, she has to take over because she cannot let her children to suffer in the cold hands of hunger.
Adesuwa suffered. She run around and sells vegetables in the market. She does other menial jobs to help herself and her children. When Omomoh her husband was alive, he wouldn't want her to be running around making money. He took all the responsibility and ask her to take care of her primary duty, which is the home. Though, she had seek for a job before she got married and she couldn't secure any. So, she remain a homemaker after she got married.
She sat under the shade remincing about her life. How it began to where it is now. "Life has really be unfair to me especially." she said. "Firstly, I lost my parent and now my husband. Will I continue to run to my siblings for help? Till when? I think I need to go and seek for a job. The number of children I've got will not stopped me. It should even be what motivate me because they are now responsibility I must take care of." Adesuwa thought until she concluded in seeking for a job. She stood up from the shade and walk home to meet her children.
Days rolls to weeks, Weeks rolls to months, Months rolls to days, there is no news of Omomoh Adesuwa's husband. Adesuwa realized that she has no option than to take the job issue very seriously. She has to stop begging and running to family for help and assistance, after all she's a graduate but fate didn't give her the best pill to swallow.
She woke up one morning and told her fifteen years old daughter who is the first child about her intention and she agreed to it and prayed for her mother. Adesuwa got prepared and took her files to go for the job hunting.
While trekking in the scorching sun, she heard someone called her by her full name, "ADESUWA IGBINIDIOM!" She was surprised and asked herself "who could it be that knows her full name?" And the person approached her. "Are you surprised? Can't you remember me? I'm Bimbo, your coursemate from AAU (Ambrose Ali University). The munchies baby. Have you recalled?" The lady explained herself and Adesuwa cleared her eyes to be sure if it was really the Bimbo she knew.
"Bimbo? The Yoruba girl who came all the way from Ilorin to school in AAU? Are you sure you're the one, because the Bimbo I knew then was plump and not very light in complexion as you?"
At first Adesuwa couldn't believe not until Bimbo smiled and her up and down open teeth was shown and Adesuwa ran to hugged her tightly.
"This is you Bimbo, how have you been? You looked good. What are you still doing in Edo state? Haven't you go and meet your family?" Adesuwa was curious. "It is a long story but I'll cut it short. I now have a family here. I got married to your Edo brother and we have three kids together now." She said.
"Wow, that's nice! No wonder you're looking very good. I can see that my brother is really trying in taking care of you." Adesuwa teased. "You're looking good as well Adesuwa. How have been life? Where are you going with files" Bimbo asked when she noticed the file in her hand. Adesuwa busted out in tears and Bimbo calmed her down and took her to her car for them to have a one on one talk.
Adesuwa narrated everything to her old friend, Bimbo and she was ready to do anything to bring her out of the condition she was and with the help of Allah. "You use to be the brightest one. You use to be the one who give us free tutorials and mentorships in most of our courses then and here you are. You use to assist us in our CA and assignment. No, no, no. One good turn deserves another. My husband is a Cornell. Cornell Sedenu of Auchi Kingdom. I'll take you to him. He'll be very glad to see that Allah use him for you. He is a well known philanthropist. I assure you, you'll be fine bi'iznillah"
Adesuwa got the help she needed from her friend Bimbo and she lived happily there after with her children.
