HOMILY FOR PENTECOST SUNDAY
(YEAR A)

NOTICE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN ONE ANOTHER

As we submit to the coming of the Holy Spirit , we’re to also have in mind that others would receive Him as well and manifest in various ways which may differ from ours.
We’re to bear witness with an open and fearless mind with our different gifts, appreciating our various manifestations of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
This is how we foster God’s kingdom here on earth, by noticing and appreciating the work of the Holy Spirit in one another.

Remain blessed.

HOMILY FOR 7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER

- WORLD COMMUNICATION SUNDAY -

(YEAR A)

GOD IS NOT ABSENT MINDED

When we communicate, we’d love to be paid attention to. No one wants an inattentive audience.
As children of God, in faith, we know that our voices never fall on deaf ears when it comes to God. He always listens. This is what keeps us going.
So we need not be discouraged from communicating with him and about him to the world.
We serve a perfectly attentive God.

Remain blessed.

HOMILY FOR 6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER (YEAR A)

PREPARE FOR THE FULFILMENT OF THE PROMISE

When we get to the stage of our lives where there’s a bit of certainty about career paths, like lawyers, engineers, doctors, and the sorts, there’re signs and semblances already present in our lives, even before the actual moment of achieving that.
This is how we’re meant to be disposed for the coming of the Holy Spirit. We don’t need to wait for ceremonies of conversion before obeying God’s commandments.
We’ve been promised the Holy Spirit and we have to make our hearts a fitting dwelling.

Remain blessed.

HOMILY FOR 5TH SUNDAY OF EASTER (YEAR A)

VALUE EVERY SACRIFICE

We’re all called, as children of God, to make sacrifices in various ways; by preaching, teaching, welfare and the sorts. No matter our role, we’re to focus on Christ and use those opportunities to glorify God.
We’re living stones of God’s kingdom and no matter the level of our sacrifice, they’re noted by God and fundamental in the Body of Christ.
Take neither your role nor the role of another for granted.
Value every sacrifice.

Remain blessed.

HOMILY FOR 4TH SUNDAY OF EASTER (YEAR A)
GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY

THE BEAUTY OF HAVING THE SHEPHERD’S APPROVAL

Not all approvals matter, and that’s why people pleasing isn’t the way to go for a child of God. God’s approval comes before any other and to have this, we’re to follow God’s example by handling all circumstances in a Christlike manner, trusting the Good shepherd every step of the way.
In the path of Christ the Good shepherd, we’ll never be lost or alone.

Remain blessed.

BE WILLING TO BREAK WORD AND BREAD

HOMILY FOR 3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER (YEAR A)

When in the midst of people we’re comfortable with, we freely express ourselves and become chatty, and when we’re in the midst of strangers, the opposite might be the case. This is expected, but God tells us to go a bit out of our comfort zones.
God encourages us today to open our hearts to strangers and freely break God’s word with them. Also, we’re invited to encounter Jesus in the breaking of bread in the Eucharist, and encouraged to invite others along as well.
This is how we contribute to the establishment of God’s Kingdom here on earth

Remain blessed.

THE PRIORITY OF GOD’S MERCY

HOMILY FOR DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY (YEAR A)

God’s mercy is above anything and will endure through anything forever as psalm 118 makes us understand.
That’s why Jesus didn’t rub it in the faces of those who falsely accused him after the resurrection, but instead sought out the believers and spread joy and hope.
God’s mercy didn’t dismiss Thomas, but taught us how to truly believe.
Jesus died for us and rose from the dead to, in his mercy, grant us an inheritance in his kingdom through salvation.
We’re to respond to God’s mercy by believing, even without seeing and not taking it lightly by abusing it.

Remain blessed.

DON’T PANIC, REJOICE

HOMILY FOR EASTER SUNDAY (YEAR A)

For something new to come up, old things have to be torn down. This tearing down may seem chaotic to those who don’t understand what’s happening, but for those who do, the chaos is seen as a necessary step towards the end goal.
This is how God calls us to be in the resurrection; remodel and assured that God’s victory is certain and already won.
In an anxious world, God tells us to spread calm and joy, being a people of the resurrection.

Remain blessed.

GOD IS EAGER

HOMILY FOR PALM SUNDAY

God is never reluctant in showing His love for us. He is eager, not out of desperation, but out of pure love, to show just how much He loves us. Today we join Jesus in His celebratory entrance into Jerusalem. He celebrates even when He knows what awaits Him. That’s how God loves us.
We, in turn are to love God likewise, that we be eager, come what may, to do God’s will.
I pray a fruitful Holy Week for you.

Remain blessed.

BELIEVE BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

HOMILY FOR THE 5TH SUNDAY OF LENT (YEAR A)

If God doesn’t come through for you in a way you expect Him to, will you still believe?
This is a question we need to ask in our hearts and answer sincerely.
God makes us understand that when and how He acts is known to Him alone.
We aren’t to believe in God solely based on our expectations. That limits our faith.
It’s good we’re aware of what God can do.
Now, we have to grow deeper in our belief to remain faithful to His will.

Remain blessed.
