I keep seeing post of people lamenting that they slept just to wake up to find their child dead.
Now you must know that there's something called SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexplained death of an infant under one year of age. It is a leading cause of death in infants between one and 12months.
Prevention Strategies:
1. Place infants on their backs to sleep (the only recommended position for 0 to 12months)
2. Use a firm, flat mattress and a tight-fitting sheet
3. Share a room with your infant but ensure you do not share same bed.
4. Maintain a comfortable temperature
5. Avoid bedding, pillows, and soft toys in the sleep area
6. Breastfeeding can reduce the risk
7. Refrain from smoking during pregnancy and around your child
8. Attend regular prenatal care
