BREAKING NEWS: June 17, 2025

Governor Douye Diri launched the Bayelsa E-Commerce Entrepreneurship Programme (BEEP 2025) at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Yenagoa.

The program, part of the M-POWER initiative, aims to train 500 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in digital and online business skills to boost participation in the digital economy.

Governor Diri announced plans for a strategic partnership with NITDA to expand the program's reach and impact. He also praised his Special Adviser on Investment, Mrs. Owanari Harry, for her innovation in executing the state’s digital vision.

As part of the empowerment effort, two entrepreneurs were awarded interest-free loans:

₦240 million to Tare Robinson Korumene (ECO FIP Nigeria Limited) for turning plantain stems into braids.

₦500 million to Winsome Tariere Dan-Adere for converting waste into valuable products.

Governor Diri emphasized the importance of creativity and urged Bayelsa youths to embrace digital entrepreneurship, marking a significant step in the state’s economic diversification efforts.

We all need this awareness today!

There's a difference between facts and truths. Facts are evidence-based and can be proven, but truths are deeper and more profound. Facts explain what exists, while truths reveal why and how. Facts are natural, but truths are divine, coming from a higher power. Scientists can discover facts, but they may not understand the underlying truths.

One common fact, but not necessarily a truth, is that "nobody wants to associate with an unsuccessful person." But is that really true? Success is relative and comes in many forms. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and one person's success may not be the same as another's. Just because someone is struggling today doesn't mean they won't be successful tomorrow.

Don't feel left out or abandoned if things aren't going well for you. Remember that everyone's timeline is different, and comparisons can be harmful. Instead, focus on developing yourself, building on your strengths, and working on your weaknesses. Discover your identity and keep learning.

I'm not worried about likes, comments, or shares. If just one person reads this and is transformed, I'm fulfilled. And I believe that person is you. May you be blessed!

A Little but Powerful Story About My Life: Staying Strong Through Joy…

It is Friday, another weekend and the end of the month of May. And you’re like God, why? When are you going to change my story?

A wise man once said, "It is profitable to learn from others' experiences and mistakes, in that way you escape becoming a victim ahead of time." I'd like to share a secret that has helped me overcome obstacles in life: the secret of joy and rejoicing in the midst of challenges.

The enemy fears a person who remains joyful in difficult situations, as it confuses and disorganizes him. Therefore, embracing a lifestyle of joy and rejoicing is crucial to frustrating and overthrowing the enemy.

My personal story is a testament to this. After secondary education, I moved to the city of Yenagoa to start anew. I soon realized that I had been living in bliss and pure haven with my parents, where everything was provided for me. But in the city, everything changed. I had to work multiple jobs, including one where I supplied Coca-Cola drinks from shop to shop, street to street. My hands would swell up each day, and I had to soak them in hot water to ease the pain. Despite the struggles, I never lost my joy.

Here's the secret to unfailing strength, hope, and bravery: never lose your joy. When discouraged, remember that everyone has their battles, and only divine intervention can help you fight yours. Be joyful and brave, and understand that no obstacle can stop God's agenda for your life.

Carry God’s presence by continually emitting joy and praises to Him. God inhabits the praises of His people. Always put on the garment of praise and you’ll carry His presence which automatically dismantles the works of the enemy out of your life. When your joy is continually full every other thing naturally fall in place when you least expected it to happen.

An ever joyful person can never be stranded because with joy you continue to draw water (blessings, favour, etc) out of the wells of salvation. Sir, this has been my survival secret for years.

To be filled with joy and remain unmoved by circumstances:

1. Totally surrender your life to Christ, your Savior.
2. Be filled with the Holy Ghost, the embodiment of the Spirit of Joy Unspeakable.
3. Be bold and brave, facing every situation as the one who decides the outcome.
4. Allow God’s word dwell richly in your spirit. Let His promises be to you a constant reminder of His faithfulness. And finally,
5. Trust in the integrity and power of God to perform, and the Bible said; David encouraged himself in the Lord and his next battle was a victorious one. Learn to encourage yourself with a smile.

THE MYSTERY BEHIND THE SURVIVAL OF AN OLD MAN WHO FEEDS FROM HIS ONLY DAUGHTERS' BREAST MILK...

This painting of a young woman breastfeeding an old man in a prison cell was sold for Euros 30 million. The painting may look perverse but the story behind is from historical records.

The poor man was sentenced to "death by starvation" for stealing a loaf of bread during the reign of Louis XIV in France. The woman was his only daughter and the only visitor to his cell. She was allowed to visit him daily but was frisked thoroughly such that no food was taken in.

When after 4 months the man still survived with no weight loss, the authorities were perplexed and started spying on her in the cell and to their utter astonishment found her to breastfeed her father to the fullest sharing her baby's milk. The judges then realizing the compassion and love of the woman for her father, pardoned the father and set him free.

(It all speaks of genuine and unconditional love, care and mercy towards people especially the ones you claim to be your loved ones far or near)

By the way a daughter’s love is beyond imagination.
