I’ll be begging the fan for more breeze like I’m in the desert, meanwhile my wife is holding blanket tight like she’s in Canada. 🥶🥵

And the fan? Just there spinning, confused, like: “Make una pick one weather na abeg.” 😂

Truly, in marriage, one person is always hot, the other is always cold, and the fan is just the innocent peacemaker.

The other day, my wife looked me in the eye after a small argumenntt and said, “Leave me alone!” 😒
So like a respectful husband, I stood up quietly and went to the sitting room. Five minutes later, she came out with that married-man nighttmare face 😅 and asked, “So you actually left me?”

That was the day I finally graduated with a PhD in Marriage English. 🎓❤️ Because sometimes, “leave me alone” really means “hold me tighter.” 😂

Now, I don’t even wait again. Once I hear “leave me”, I just hold her tighter. Because in marriage, the English you hear is not always the English they mean. 🤣

So yesterday, I decided to act small drama at home. You know that childish hunger strike husbands like to do? I told myself, “I won’t eat this food. She must beg me first!”

I pushed the food aside, crossed my arms, and waited to hear, “Baby please eat now, don’t be upset.”

But instead of begging, madam carried the food, sat down like a queen, finished everything down to the last grain of rice, washed the pot, wiped her mouth, and went straight to bed like nothing happened. I just stood there looking.

Now I’m confused, should I call this one a wife material or something else? 🤔😂

So the other day, my wife looked me in the eyes and said, “You don’t tell me ‘I love you’ like before.”
I paused, because in my mind I was thinking, “Wait o, didn’t I just ask you yesterday if you’ve eaten?”

See ehn, in Nigeria, true love language is not flowers or chocolates, it’s food. 🍲😂
When I say “Have you eaten?” what I really mean is “I can’t imagine this world without you.”
When I ask “Should I warm the soup for you?” what I’m saying is “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”

The truth is, marriage has taught me that sometimes the strongest “I love you” is wrapped inside a plate of jollof rice. Because if my wife is hungry and I whisper “I love you,” she’ll just hiss and say, “Love cannot fill my stomach.” 🤣

So yes, the real love language in my house is not “I love you”, it’s “Babe, have you eaten?” 😂 🤣
