I Remain the Legitimate ADC Chairman of Adamawa State” – Shehu Yohanna Fires Back on Facebook After Ouster

October 19, 2025

NEWS:

The leadership crisis within the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has taken a dramatic turn as Hon. Comrade Shehu Yohanna Kambile fired back at his recent ouster on his official page.

In a strongly worded post, Comrade Shehu declared:

“Despite not being a Muslim and being a so-called ‘nobody’s son,’ their entire plan, mission, and agenda is dead on arrival by the special grace of God Almighty. I remain the substantive, authentic, and genuine ADC Party Chairman for Adamawa State until December 2026. So help me God.”

The post underscores his firm stance that he remains the legitimate chairman, despite recent attempts by rival factions to replace him.

Political observers note that the ADC crisis in Adamawa is now mired in religious and personal undertones, raising questions about whether leadership disputes are being influenced more by faith and allegiance than by merit, strategy, or democratic processes.

Comrade Shehu’s statement serves as a bold assertion of divine endorsement over party leadership claims, signaling that the battle for control of the ADC in Adamawa is far from over.

Leadership Tussle Hits ADC Adamawa as Shehu Yohanna is Removed as ADC Chair, Komsiri Assumes Control

October 19, 2025

NEWS:

The Adamawa State chapter of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) has plunged into crisis following the abrupt removal of its former chairman, Comrade Shehu Yohanna, who has been replaced by Malam Saidu Komsiri.

The development, which many party members have described as a coup and forceful takeover, marks a new phase in the internal power struggle that has gripped the party in recent weeks.

According to party insiders, Comrade Yohanna has now been reassigned to serve as the Welfare Secretary, a move some describe as a demotion intended to sideline him from the party’s strategic decisions.

The emergence of the new interim leadership under Komsiri is reportedly aimed at restoring stability, but tensions remain high among party faithful who are divided over the legitimacy of the process.

Political observers have cautioned that the ADC in Adamawa risks disintegration ahead of the 2027 general elections if the leadership crisis is not swiftly and amicably resolved.

JUST IN: Defence Headquarters Debunks Coup Allegation, Pledges Continued Loyalty to Democracy.

October 19, 2025

NEWS:

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has firmly denied a report by an online platform alleging that the cancellation of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations was linked to a purported coup attempt.

In a statement released on Saturday, the DHQ described the publication as false, baseless, and malicious, emphasizing that the decision to suspend the anniversary activities was purely administrative. According to the military, the move was intended to enable President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to attend a strategic bilateral engagement abroad, while the Armed Forces maintain operational focus in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges.

The statement further addressed reports of an investigation involving sixteen military officers, clarifying that it was a routine internal process aimed at upholding discipline and professionalism within the ranks. The DHQ assured that findings from the investigation would be made public in due course.

Reiterating its commitment to democratic governance, the Defence Headquarters reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty of the Armed Forces to the Constitution and to President Tinubu. It urged the public to disregard unfounded rumours and continue supporting security agencies in their efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy, peace, and stability.

JUST IN: Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially Dump PDP.

October 16, 2025

NEWS:

Governor Diri made the announcement earlier today at the Government House in Yenagoa, marking a major political development in Bayelsa State’s leadership.

According to sources close to the governor, his decision follows weeks of internal consultations and growing discontent within the PDP’s state structure. While Diri did not immediately disclose his next political move, speculation is rife that he may be heading to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in what could signal a significant shift in Bayelsa’s political alignment.

Reports also indicate that 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly have followed the governor’s lead, resigning their membership from the PDP in solidarity.

Governor Diri’s defection marks a major setback for the PDP, which has long maintained a dominant presence in Bayelsa State — one of its traditional strongholds in the South-South region.

As of press time, the PDP has not released an official statement responding to the governor’s resignation.

This development is expected to reshape the political landscape of Bayelsa ahead of the next general elections, with implications for both state and national politics.

Adamawa Lawmakers Get 100m Each as Constituency Allowance — Citizens Urged to Demand Accountability

October 13, 2025

NEWS:

Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly have reportedly received 100 million each as constituency allowance, intended to fund development projects across their respective constituencies.

According to credible sources within the Assembly, the funds were disbursed to all 25 lawmakers as part of the state government’s effort to promote grassroots development and empower communities.

However, the development has stirred mixed reactions among residents and civic groups, who have called for transparency and accountability in the use of the funds. Critics argue that similar allowances in the past have not translated into tangible projects on the ground.

Civil society organizations have urged constituents to monitor and question their representatives to ensure the funds are used for the intended purposes such as road repairs, water supply, education, and health initiatives.

A senior legislative aide who spoke anonymously said lawmakers are expected to submit reports detailing how the constituency funds are utilized.

As of press time, neither the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly nor the Ministry of Finance has officially commented on the disbursement or provided details on project monitoring mechanisms.

JUST: ASUU Declares Total Two-Week Warning Strike

October 12, 2025

NEWS:

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Sunday declared a two-week total and comprehensive warning strike across all public universities in Nigeria.

The decision was announced after the union’s emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, held to deliberate on unresolved issues with the Federal Government regarding funding, welfare, and implementation of prior agreements.

According to a statement issued by the union, the strike takes effect immediately and will affect academic activities in federal and state universities nationwide.

ASUU said the decision followed the government’s failure to meet its demands, which include the payment of withheld salaries, implementation of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), and revitalization funds for public universities.

The union emphasized that the strike is a warning action, but may be extended or escalated if the government fails to address the lingering issues within the stipulated two-week period.

Students across the country have expressed concern over the development, fearing another disruption of the academic calendar.

As of the time of this report, the Federal Ministry of Education has yet to issue an official response to ASUU’s latest action.

Leadership Rift: Bindow Set to Dump ADC, Slams Party’s Lack of Internal Democracy

October 11, 2025

NEWS:

The former Governor and Senator, Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has hinted at his imminent departure from the Alliance Democracy Congress (ADC).

Bindow, who was among the high-profile defectors that recently joined the ADC in what was seen as a strategic boost to Atiku Abubakar’s new political base, criticized the party’s internal wrangling, describing it as a “thunderstorm” that could wreck its chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking through close associates on Wednesday in Yola, the former governor reportedly expressed frustration over what he called “a total absence of internal democracy and discipline” within the ADC’s state structure. He alleged that personal interests, factional dominance, and a lack of transparency had made the party ungovernable.

“What is happening in the ADC today is nothing short of chaos. The same problems we left behind in our former parties have resurfaced here, only worse,” a source quoted Bindow as saying.

The development has sent shockwaves through the ADC, which has been grappling with deep internal divisions between rival factions competing for control of the party’s structure in Adamawa. Analysts warn that Bindow’s exit could trigger a new wave of defections and weaken the ADC’s rising political influence in the state.

Party insiders say attempts by the national leadership to reconcile warring camps have so far yielded little success, with several senior members already threatening to return to their former parties.

As of press time, neither Senator Bindow nor the ADC’s state chairman had issued an official statement confirming the defection, but multiple sources close to both camps described the breakup as “a matter of days.”

Crisis Rocks Adamawa ADC as Leadership Feud Deepens.

October 11, 2025

NEWS:

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State teeters on the brink of collapse, as a bitter leadership feud threatens to trigger mass defections among high profile members who only recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the party.

Sources within the ADC revealed that the crisis stems from a sharp disagreement between key factions over control of the party’s structure and the sharing of positions ahead of the next political cycle. The dispute has reportedly created deep divisions that have paralyzed the party’s activities at both state and local government levels.

Some prominent politicians who decamped from the APC to the ADC earlier this year are said to be reconsidering their decision, citing the “lack of internal democracy” and “personal interests overriding party unity.”

A senior party official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the situation as “a ticking time bomb,” warning that if urgent reconciliation is not pursued, “the ADC in Adamawa may not survive the next few months.”

Efforts by the party’s national leadership to intervene have so far yielded little result, as both camps continue to trade accusations of betrayal and misconduct.

Political observers believe the crisis could weaken the ADC’s growing influence in Adamawa politics, especially as rival parties, including the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC, are already courting aggrieved members.

As of press time, neither the state chairman of the ADC nor the spokesperson for the party’s national secretariat had issued an official statement regarding the ongoing feud.

JUST IN: President Tinubu Approves Establishment of Nigeria Police Training College in Adamawa State

October 8, 2025

NEWS:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of a new Nigeria Police Training College in Adamawa State, as part of his administration’s ongoing reforms to strengthen national security and enhance police professionalism across the country.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the new training college will be located in Malabu, Fufore Local Government Area of the state. The institution is expected to serve as a center for advanced police training, focusing on areas such as intelligence gathering, counter-terrorism, law enforcement ethics, and community policing.

The approval reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to modernizing the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and providing the necessary infrastructure for effective training and operational readiness.

Officials say the establishment of the college will also boost local development in Adamawa State by creating job opportunities and stimulating economic activities in the region.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) expressed appreciation to the President for his continued support, assuring that the college will meet international standards and contribute significantly to improving policing capacity nationwide.

Construction work on the project is expected to commence soon, with implementation jointly supervised by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs and the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters.

JUST IN: Tinubu Orders Reduction of 2026 Hajj Fares, Directs NAHCON to Act

October 8, 2025

NEWS:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to immediately review and reduce the cost of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

The President’s directive followed a meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed Tinubu’s instruction to NAHCON officials and other stakeholders.

According to reports, the 2026 Hajj fares earlier announced by NAHCON ranged between ₦8.2 million and ₦8.5 million, depending on the departure zone. However, President Tinubu ordered that the fares be reviewed downward to reflect the current appreciation of the naira and improved economic conditions.

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, noted that the initial fares were based on a “pessimistic” exchange rate of 1,550 to the U.S. dollar. He said the government’s ongoing reforms have strengthened the naira, and the benefits must be passed on to intending pilgrims.

Vice President Shettima gave NAHCON 48 hours to submit a revised fare proposal that will make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims.

In response, NAHCON expressed appreciation to the President and Vice President for their intervention, describing the move as “timely and compassionate.” The Commission also urged intending pilgrims to make payments early to enable state pilgrims’ welfare boards to remit funds on time and secure favorable exchange rates.

The final revised 2026 Hajj fare is expected to be announced in the coming days.

Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas and North West Counterpart Set to Join APC in Coming Days.

October 7, 2025

NEWS

In a major political realignment, reliable sources have confirmed that the Governor of Taraba State Agbu Kefas and another Governor from the North West region are set to officially join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming days.

The development is seen as a significant victory for the ruling party, which continues to strengthen its presence across the country ahead of upcoming political activities.

According to insiders, discussions have reached an advanced stage, with both governors expected to make a formal declaration of their defection soon. The move is expected to bolster the APC’s influence in the North East and North West geopolitical zones, as both governors command strong grassroots support in their respective states.

Party officials have remained tight lipped on the exact date of the defection, but sources within the APC have hinted that a grand reception ceremony is already being planned to welcome the two governors into the party’s fold.

Political observers believe this development could reshape alignments within the opposition and further consolidate the APC’s dominance ahead of future elections.

Ex-PDP Chairman, Fintiri’s Key Aide Joel Madaki, Defects to APC

October 3, 2025

NEWS:

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has suffered a major setback as one of his closest allies, Joel Madaki, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Madaki, who once served as the PDP State Chairman and was until now Fintiri’s most senior Special Adviser, announced his defection. His move is seen as a significant blow to the ruling party in Adamawa, given his influence and long-standing role within the PDP’s political structure.

Sources close to the development revealed that Madaki’s defection was driven by internal disagreements within the PDP and his desire to align with the APC ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers say the move could further reshape the political dynamics in Adamawa State as both parties intensify preparations for upcoming contests.
