BREAKING NEWS: Police Arrest 12 Armed Robbers Linked to the Killing of Arise News Staff, Somtochukwu Maduagwu

In a major breakthrough, the FCT Police Command has arrested 12 suspects involved in the deadly armed robbery that claimed the lives of Arise News journalist Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu and security guard Barnabas Danlami at Unique Apartments, Gishiri Village, Katampe District, Abuja.

According to an EIB Stratoc Report, the arrests followed a directive by the Commissioner of Police, FCT, to track down the killers. Operatives of the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor Godfrey, made the arrests after actionable digital intelligence was provided by Giga Forensics, a subsidiary of EIB Stratoc.

Four suspects were initially captured after investigators tracked phones stolen during the incident. They later confessed to the crime, revealing details of how the operation was carried out.

Recovered items include:

One fabricated AK-47 rifle

36 rounds of live ammunition

One locally made pistol

One pump-action gun

Two live cartridges

Four mobile phones belonging to the victims

Sharp objects and torchlights used during the attack

Further intelligence led to the arrest of the remaining members of the gang while they were allegedly heading to another planned robbery in Maitama.

The suspects have all confessed to their roles in the tragic incident.
Police say investigations are ongoing and more updates will follow.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri once promised civil servants 5,000 affordable houses with salary deductions. Today, those same homes are on sale for ₦9.7m (2-bedroom) and ₦11.7m (3-bedroom) , cash and carry.

Quick maths: an entry-level worker earns ₦72k/month (₦864k yearly). That means over 11 years of salary, without eating or paying school fees, just to buy one flat. Affordable for who, please?

To make matters worse, reports say some units are already cracking. Engineers warn they may not last a decade. Imagine buying a “dream home” that becomes a demolition site before your children graduate primary school.

The Moral: When government says “affordable housing,” always ask, “Affordable for who, for person wey dey collect 72?

Adamawa 2027: ADC in Pole Position, But Risking an Own Goal. By Bar. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin

When Barr. Ibrahim Dasin declared that “Adamawa is ADC’s to lose,” many misunderstood him. Some thought he was predicting defeat, but the reality is this: ADC has the advantage in Adamawa ahead of 2027, and the only real threat to victory is self-sabotage, particularly in how the party handles its primaries.

Here are his three key points:

1. The Atiku Factor
Since 1992, Adamawa voters have consistently followed Waziri Atiku. From governorship elections to presidential primaries, his influence has shaped outcomes across parties. With Atiku now leading ADC, the state is practically in the party’s pocket, unless they blow it.

2. The Youth Factor
Adamawa’s youth feel betrayed by both APC and PDP. ADC is offering them space: 60% of party executives, House of Assembly candidates, and even grassroots positions will be young people. If mobilized, this demographic alone could tilt the election. But the big question remains: will the youth protect their votes or repeat the cycle of apathy?

3. Atiku the Centrist
Unlike the tribal and religious extremists parading themselves in APC and PDP, Atiku is a centrist, a politician who appeals across divides. That moderation is why a diverse state like Adamawa trusts him. The same cannot be said for Tinubu’s camp or local ethnic chauvinists who fear a fair ballot box contest.

Moral: Adamawa might be ADC’s easiest win in 2027, but in politics, just like football, an own goal is the most embarrassing way to lose.

DEMONSTRATION FARMS LOADING IN ADAMAWA!

ADAS-Programme don kick off plans to establish demo farms across Adamawa State. On Thursday, 11th September 2025, stakeholders gathered in Yola for the 1st Technical Committee Meeting at ADAS-P Conference Room.

The farms will serve as practical learning centers for dry season farming—teaching modern irrigation, smart rice & maize production, and affordable input use. The idea is to help farmers cut costs, increase yield, and embrace climate-smart agriculture.

With private extension services also in the mix, the vision is simple: give Adamawa farmers access to the right knowledge and technology to prosper.

Moral: In Nigeria, if we teach farmers well, food no go ever finish in market. Do you agree or not?
