“Stay With APC and Build It, Or Leave” — Jamilu Yusuf Warns Adamawa Party Members

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum in Adamawa State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Malam Jamilu Yusuf, has called on members of the party to demonstrate loyalty and refrain from actions that could undermine the APC.

Yusuf made the call while addressing APC members in the state, particularly those who recently joined the party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political platforms.

He urged new members to understand that joining a political party comes with responsibilities, including commitment, patience and loyalty, stressing that members who genuinely believe in the APC should contribute to strengthening the party from within.

According to him, political seasons are temporary, but decisions taken during such periods can have lasting consequences.

Yusuf advised members to draw lessons from the experiences of some “legacy APC” members who, he said, engaged in anti-party activities in the past and later regretted their decisions.

He also cautioned against supporting opposition interests while remaining members of the APC, noting that political alliances can change when circumstances and calculations shift.

He said anyone who no longer believes in the APC or does not wish to see the party succeed has the freedom to seek another political platform.

However, he maintained that those who choose to remain in the APC should demonstrate their commitment by supporting the party and avoiding activities that could weaken its electoral prospects.

“APC is a political family. Let us build it from within rather than destroy it from within,” Yusuf said.

He further advocated greater discipline, trust, loyalty and internal democracy within the party, urging members to learn from past political experiences rather than repeat them.

Yusuf stressed that his message was not targeted at any particular person, describing it as a sincere appeal to APC members, especially those who recently joined the party.

He urged party members to consider the long-term implications of their political choices, saying:

“Let us think about tomorrow while making our decisions today.”

Former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and former Director General of Media to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Mr. Solomon Kumangar, says the emergence of APC Govdrnorship Candidate, Alh Ahmed Tijjani Aminu Galadima is significant, and that the electorate, under Governor Fintiri's leadership, will determine the outcome of the 2027 governorship election.

Kamale Counters Abbo, Defends Record Ahead of 2027 Adamawa Governorship Race.

The political contest ahead of the 2027 Adamawa governorship election continues to gather momentum, with APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Hon. Adamu Kamale, firing back at recent remarks made by former Senator Ishaku Abbo (SIA).

Kamale accused the former senator of relying on self-acclaim and emotional narratives to sway public opinion instead of allowing his record in office to speak for itself.

He noted that although Abbo acknowledged receiving about ₦220 million annually for constituency projects during his tenure in the Senate, Michika reportedly benefited from only three health centres. Adamawa 2027: Concerned Citizen Urges ADC to Replace Governorship Candidate with Abdulrahman Haske

A concerned citizen of Adamawa State, identified as D.D. Luwa, has written an open letter to the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with a copy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, appealing for the reconsideration of the party’s governorship candidacy in the state ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.

The letter, addressed to the ADC National Chairman through the party’s Adamawa State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to consider Alhaji Abdulrahman Haske as its governorship candidate, describing him as a figure capable of uniting the three senatorial zones of Adamawa State and broadening the party’s electoral appeal.

According to the writer, the appeal followed what he described as extensive consultations with stakeholders across the state’s 21 local government areas, including traditional elders, women leaders, youths and community representatives.

While making the request, Luwa acknowledged the emergence of Hon. Omrana as the party’s governorship candidate through the party’s internal democratic process, commending him for his commitment and service to the party.

He, however, appealed to the ADC leadership to engage Hon. Omrana in consultations and seek his voluntary withdrawal in what he described as the overall interest of Adamawa State and the party, stressing that such a move should be handled with dignity and mutual respect.

The letter further urged the party to ensure that any decision regarding candidate substitution strictly complies with the provisions of Section 33 of the Electoral Act 2022 and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including approval by the National Working Committee and timely submission of all required nomination documents.

Luwa maintained that his intervention was motivated by the desire to see credible leadership, peaceful elections and sustainable development in Adamawa State.

Maimuna also advised Atiku Abubakar to be more cautious about those granted close access to him, urging him to limit private phone conversations and ensure visitors do not carry mobile phones into sensitive meetings.

Defending the former Vice President, Maimuna described Atiku Abubakar as a respected family man and maintained that his contributions played a significant role in elevating the political profile of several former associates.

The exchange follows Dr. Aslam’s recent defection from the ADC to the APC, where she granted interviews suggesting she would expose undisclosed information about her former political principal.

The Adamawa State Local Government Service Commission has released the official timetable for the 2026 promotion interviews for local government staff across the state's 21 Local Government Areas.

According to the schedule, the exercise will commence on Monday, July 13, 2026, with staff from Yola North Local Government Area, while Lamurde Local Government Area will conclude the exercise on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

In a notice signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Tukur, for the Chairman, the Commission directed that all Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) and Heads of Departments (HODs) must accompany their staff to the Commission on the dates assigned to their respective local government areas.

The Commission urged all affected officers to strictly adhere to the timetable to ensure a smooth and orderly conduct of the promotion interview exercise.
