Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON has approved the appointment of three new Special Advisers.

The Governor, in a statement signed by the chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou said the appointments were made to strengthen governance and assist in the realisation of his administration’s development aspirations.

The appointees are Musa Bubakari Kamale, Public Communications, Prince Medan Fwa Mni- Border Cooperation and Development, and Dr Emmanuel Akewata, Communications, Research and Documentation.

Governor Fintiri congratulated the newly-appointed Special Advisers and urged them to approach their duties with dedication to service.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration's willingness to ensure the initiation and implementation of more developmental projects and programs before the end of his tenure.

The governor stated this during the Adamawa forward summit organized by the office of the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Mobilization, in collaboration with Adamawa Youth in Politics, Emerging Leaders Community Initiative amongst others in Yola.

During the summit, with the theme: sustaining and building upon Governor Fintiri's developmental strides for posterity through a people-powered movement, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri who was represented by his principal special assistant on social mobilisation, Victor Dogo said, the emergence of Fintiri as governor of the state is on the people's mandate, hence the desire to sustain all developmental strides for the growth of Adamawa State..

Fintiri who appreciated organizers of the summit, expressed optimism that it will be instrumental in guiding participants on their voting rights.

In a remark, the guest Speaker at the summit, Ishaya Durkwa noted that the summit is apt, calling on the people to support government policies in developing the state.

Convener of the summit , who is also the principal special assistant on Social Mobilization to the Governor, Victor Dogo stressed the need to recognize the giant strides achieved by Governor Fintiri's administration over the years.

In their goodwill messages, representatives of CAN, Rufus Isa and Muslim Council Adamamwa state chapter Umar Ahmed commended the organizers of the summit and appreciated Governor Fintiri's efforts in the development of the state.

Dangote Sugar Refinery, DSR Numan has flagged off a 5-day wellness campaign targeting at least 1,000 children across host communities of Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Shelleng and Guyuk local government areas.

In a remark during the flag off ceremony which took place at Demsa cottage hospital, the Group General Manager Operation, Mallam Bello Danmusa said the medical outreach is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives focused on promoting good health and well-being of the children.

Danmusa said the Back-to-School Medical Outreach is an initiative of the company, supported by the Chairmen of the five Local Government Areas of the Numan Federation and the Adamawa State Ministry of Health and Human Services.

The exercise will provide free medical checks, health consultations, deworming, nutritional advice and other health education sessions to children from 3 to 15 years, aimed at ensuring that the children are in good health and better prepared for their academic activities.

Danmusa explained that referral cases will be handled, with the company covering the bills of affected children.

He also reiterated the company's readiness to partner with government and relevant stakeholders to strengthen the health sector.

Commissioner for Health, Felix Tangwami represented by Director of Admin, Malam Abubakar iya Hamid commended the management of Dangote Sugar Refinery, describing the gesture as being in line with the fintiri administration's vision of engancing the healthcare sector.

Head of Dangote Medical outreach, Doctor Tanko said the exercise is timely as children resume schools, stressing that the importance of their wellbeing cannot be overemphasized.

He therefore urged parents and guardians of the host communities to reciprocate the gesture by bringing their children for medical attention.

Stakeholders who attended the flag off ceremony appreciated Dangote Sugar Refinery, describing the gesture as move in the right direction toward ensuring the wellbeing of children who are the leaders of tomorrow.

In a significant show of appreciation for impactful developmental interventions, the Ngurore community, under the leadership of its District Head, Alhaji Abubakar Lawan, has conferred an Award of Excellence on the Adamawa State office of the North East Development Commission, NEDC.

The honour was presented to the State Coordinator, Barr. Khalifa Lawan, during a courtesy visit by a delegation of community leaders from Ngurore to the NEDC State office in Yola.

Alhaji Abubakar Lawan, while presenting the award, stated that the visit was primarily to express the community's heartfelt gratitude for the numerous giant projects installed by the Commission, which have significantly improved the lives of his people.

He commended the NEDC for its commitment to rebuilding the infrastructure and social fabric of the North-East region, which has been ravaged by insurgency.

"The people of Ngurore are direct beneficiaries of your good work, and we are here today to say thank you," the District Head said.

"These projects, which touch on critical areas of need, have not gone unnoticed. We see the NEDC as a true partner in progress."

In a remark, Barrister Khalifa Lawan thanked the Ngurore leaders for the gesture, describing the award as a humbling recognition of the Commission's efforts.

He assured the community that the NEDC remains committed to executing more life-changing projects across the entire state.

"This award will serve as a motivation for me and my team to redouble our efforts in bringing development to the good people of Adamawa State," Barr. Lawan stated.

While promising more projects, the State Coordinator also charged the community members to take ownership of the projects installed in their domain.

In a move aimed at fostering stronger partnerships for grassroots development, a delegation of three non-governmental organizations recently visited the Adamawa State office of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).

Sarki; the Chairman of the Initiative for Youth Community Development, Mr. Zira Ali; and the Project Manager of the Adamawa People with Disability and Vulnerable Support Initiative, Ms. Deborah Adesanya said the visit, is for the purposes of familiarization, collaboration, and partnership, saw the NGO leaders commend the NEDC for its ongoing efforts in rebuilding the North-East region.

The heads of the delegation outlined their organizations' core mandates and expressed a strong desire to synergize with the Commission to avoid duplication of efforts and maximize reach, particularly in supporting youth, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in Adamawa State.

They argued that a formal partnership would leverage the NEDC's resources and the NGOs' grassroots presence to create more sustainable and far-reaching developmental outcomes.

Responding, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the NEDC, Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan, thanked the delegation for the initiative and their kind words towards the Commission's work.

Barr. Lawan acknowledged the critical role that NGOs play in community engagement and service delivery, describing them as essential partners in the mission to rehabilitate and develop the region.

He assured the leaders of the Commission's willingness to explore areas of collaboration, emphasizing that such partnerships are key to achieving comprehensive development.

Federal Government has adopted a multi-dimensional approach to combat the rising cases of malnutrition across the country.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Health and Focal Person on Nutrition, Office of the Vice President, Uju Vanstasia Rochas-Anwukah, stated this during the official flag-off of the Nutrition 774 Initiative held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola.

The Federal Government, in collaboration with partners, introduced the Nutrition 774 Initiative, aimed at actualizing its mission across all local government areas of the country.

Rochas-Anwukah explained that the essence of the initiative is to introduce and advance a program that touches the soul of the nation and the well-being of every Nigerian child.

According to her, one in every three Nigerian children under the age of five is stunted, stressing that nearly half of all child deaths in the nation are linked to malnutrition.

Rochas-Anwukah however urged Royal Fathers and Religious Leaders to form the moral and cultural compass of the fight by offering daily guidance and building trust.

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing succor to the poor and vulnerable members of society.

He announced plans to launch a State Council on Nutrition as part of the Nutrition 774 Flagship Initiative, and to hold a town hall meeting as an inclusive platform for dialogue, accountability, and action in the collective fight against malnutrition.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, the Governor noted that malnutrition is not only a health problem but also a barrier to education, productivity, and the future of children.

He described it as a silent calamity that impairs growth, learning, and cognitive ability, thereby threatening human capital and undermining development.

Fintiri added that the state aligns with the commendable vision of the National Economic Council under the leadership of the Vice President, who initiated the Nutrition 774 Programme designed to institutionalize nutrition interventions across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

The Governor further stated that Adamawa State has consistently demonstrated its dedication to human capital development.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Government has inaugurated the Adamawa State Council on Nutrition to lead policy direction, coordination, oversight, and performance tracking of all nutrition interventions in the state, in alignment with the national Nutrition 774 framework.

Adamawa State Government has urged Residents to support its efforts in promoting unity and mutual understanding among the diverse ethnicities of the State.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Aloysius Babadoke, stated this during a road walk to commemorate this year’s World Tourism Day in Yola.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Aloysius Babadoke, said the road walk was carried out to showcase the developmental strides of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration in the State.

Babadoke said this year’s theme, Sustainable Transformation, aligns with the transformation agenda of the Fintiri administration and showcases the beauty and diversity of Adamawa State.

According to him, the day is annually celebrated on the 27th of September every year but was rescheduled to the 4th of October to make it more elaborate.

He stated that previous celebrations were held at Sukur Kingdom in Madagali and Kiri in Shelleng Local Government Areas, respectively.

Also, the President General of the Igbo Cultural Association in Adamawa State, Chief Emmanuel Nwabueze Aneke, commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, as he called on State indigenes to continue in the spirit of unity as exhibited for the development of the State.

The road walk, which featured cultural displays in solidarity with diverse cultural groups, kick-started from Capital School and terminated at the Adamawa Unity Flyover.

It could be recalled that the Adamawa State Government has approved the sum of ₦5.1 billion for the construction of a modern amusement park, a move aimed at revitalizing tourist activities in the State.
