AUN Schools Faces Concerns Over Rising Fees, Teaching Quality and Student Welfare

YOLA - AUN Schools is facing growing concerns over its increasing school fees and alleged decline in educational standards, infrastructure and student welfare.

The concerns include the continuous increase in annual fees, which are reported to exceed *₦2 million* per child, despite persistent challenges affecting students and parents.

Issues reported include unreliable electricity and air conditioning in classrooms and the school clinic, shortage of experienced teachers, frequent teacher absenteeism, inadequate textbooks, unmarked assignments, declining academic performance, concerns over food and access to drinking water, poor toilet facilities and inadequate response to students complaints.

There are also concerns over reports of *weak* performance in Mathematics among SS3 students during mock examinations, raising questions about their preparedness for WAEC, JAMB and other external examinations.

The school’s recently introduced fee payment policy has also generated concerns, particularly the requirement for fees to be paid one month before resumption, a ₦1,000 daily late payment penalty, and restrictions on students resumption until outstanding fees and penalties are fully settled.

Other issues include the reported departure of experienced teachers, additional administrative responsibilities assigned to some teaching staff, limited participation in external academic competitions, discontinuation of student teacher evaluation forms and concerns surrounding prize money reportedly won by students at a competition in Abuja.

Concerns have further been raised over additional charges for school activities and graduation events, with parents questioning why such expenses are not incorporated into the main school fees.

Several of the issues reportedly date back to concerns raised during a parents meeting in 2022, including teaching quality, textbooks, school fees, transport services, security, communication and student welfare.

Further findings by newsmen also indicate that, despite the more than ₦2 million in annual fees reportedly paid by parents for each child, the school management has no significant humanitarian or community support activities targeted at the surrounding community.

The concerns are said to be contributing to declining confidence among some long standing parents, with reports that some families have withdrawn their children while others have decided against enrolling their younger children.

The situation has raised questions about accountability, value for money and whether the current level of educational and welfare services is commensurate with the financial obligations placed on parents.

All efforts by newsmen to obtain the reaction of the school management proved abortive, as the Interim Director of the school was absent when journalists visited. Her deputy, however, through the school security guard indicated that the management would be able to comment on the matter after the school resumes.

A wani mataki na ƙarfafawa, nuna godiya da tallafa wa matasan da s**a ci gaba da kasancewa masu aminci da jajircewa wajen tafiyar siyasar Hon. Ibrahim Babayola Mustapha (Baba Ten), an bai wa mutane biyar tallafin kuɗi na jimillar ₦2.5 miliyan.

KU KYALE ABDULRAHMAN HASKE.

Wanda ya kafa ƙungiyar Fight to Finish Forum 2027, kuma Tafidan Daulan Adamawa, Hon. Hussaini Ahmadu Har, ya yi kira ga mutanen da ke s**ar matakin siyasar Abdulrahman Haske da su daina ba shi shawarwarin da bai nema ba, su bar shi ya yi amfani da haƙƙinsa na kundin tsarin mulki wajen yanke shawarar siyasar da ya ga ta dace da shi.

A cikin wata sanarwa da ya fitar, Hon. Hussaini ya ce hankalinsa ya karkata kan wasu jerin kalamai da wasu matasa ke yi dangane da rahotannin cewa Abdulrahman Haske na shirin ficewa daga jam’iyyar APC.

Ya bayyana irin waɗannan s**ar a matsayin abin da ba dole ba, yana mai cewa Haske, a matsayinsa na ɗan Najeriya, yana da cikakken haƙƙin yin zaɓe da kuma tsayawa takarar wani muƙamin siyasa a ƙarƙashin kowace jam’iyyar siyasa da ya zaɓa.

A cewarsa, Abdulrahman ya shiga APC ne domin ya yi amfani da wannan haƙƙi tare da bayar da gudunmawa wajen ci gaban jam’iyyar, amma tsarin, musamman zaɓen fidda gwani na jam’iyyar, ya gaza samar masa da abin da ya kira dama mai inganci ta lashe tikitin jam’iyyar gabanin babban zaɓen 2027.

Hon. Hussaini ya ƙara da cewa Abdulrahman Haske baligi ne, mai ilimi, kuma wanda ya samu gogewa da sanin ya kamata ta hanyar tafiye tafiye da hulɗa da al’umma, don haka yana da cikakkiyar damar yanke shawarar siyasa bisa fahimtarsa da abin da ya yi imani da shi.

Ya ce duk da abin da ya bayyana a matsayin gazawar APC wajen bai wa Haske damar siyasa ta gaskiya, tsohon ɗan takarar na ci gaba da samun gagarumin goyon bayan siyasa daga sassa daban-daban na al’umma.

Hussaini ya danganta tasirin siyasar Haske da irin goyon bayan da yake samu daga mutane masu bambancin jam’iyyun siyasa, shekaru, ƙabilu da kuma rukunin al’umma daban daban.

Haka kuma, ya yi watsi da zargin cewa mutanen da ke goyon bayan burin siyasar Haske suna yin hakan ne kawai saboda suna fatan samun wata moriya daga gare shi.

Ya ƙalubalanci masu yin irin waɗannan zarge zarge da su yi amfani da ma’auni guda wajen kallon nasu zaɓin siyasa, yana tambayar ko mutanen da ke goyon bayan wasu ƴan takara da ake zargin an ɗora su daga manyan jami’an jam’iyya ba sa yin hakan ne saboda wani buri ko tsammanin wata moriyar siyasa ko ta kashin kai.

Hussaini ya kuma yi kira ga shugabannin APC a jihar Adamawa da su mai da hankali wajen magance matsalolin da ya bayyana a matsayin rashin demokradiyyar cikin gida, zargin ɗora ƴan takara da kuma rashin ingantaccen jagoranci, yana gargadin cewa irin waɗannan matsaloli na iya yin illa ga jam’iyyar gabanin zaɓen 2027.

Saboda haka, ya roƙi masu s**ar Abdulrahman Haske da su karkatar da hankalinsu wajen magance matsalolin da ke cikin APC maimakon ƙoƙarin tilasta masa irin matakin siyasar da ya kamata ya ɗauka.

Ya ce: “A Kyale Abdulrahman ya tsaya takara a ƙarƙashin kowace jam’iyyar siyasa da ya zaɓa.”

Hussaini ya jaddada cewa Haske ya kamata ya samu ƴancin bin burinsa na siyasa ba tare da la’akari da sakamakon da zai iya samu ba.

Ya kuma yi tsokaci kan ƙuri’u 65,424 da aka ce an bai wa Haske a lokacin zaɓen fidda gwani na APC, yana mai zargin cewa tsarin zaɓen bai kasance cikin gaskiya da sahihanci ba.

Hussaini Ahmadu Har, wanda ya sanya hannu kan sanarwar a matsayin shi na Tafidan Daulan Adamawa kuma wanda ya kafa Fight to Finish Forum 2027, ya ce abin da ya kamata a fi mayar da hankali a kai shi ne ƙarfafa tsarin dimokuraɗiyya da kuma mutunta zaɓin siyasar kowane ɗan takara gabanin babban zaɓen 2027.

BUSINESS CAREER

Haske began his business career in 2005 offering general contracting services to private and public organizations and trading in agro-commodities and petroleum products. He later established AA&R Investment Group – a conglomerate with several subsidiaries in diversified industries including agriculture, oil and gas, logistics, aviation, marine services and ICT. His company, Manomi Support Services Limited, a community based agricultural production firm manages 15,000 hectares of land across several Nigerian states with over 2,000 employees.

His H & W Rice Company Limited, an integrated rice miller is one of the largest millers in northern Nigeria with an annual production of 48,000 tons of paddy.

Haske is known mainly in the Nigeria oil and gas industry with diversified investments in upstream and downstream sectors with several companies including Mars Exploration and Production Limited, an indigenous exploration and production, and Etihad Oilfield Services Limited. Etihad Oilfield Services is known for its role in the discovery of oil and gas in commercial quantity in the Kolmani River area around Bauchi and Gombe states in the north east of Nigeria.

Haske is reported to own 51% stakes in four oil blocks which include OML 123, OML 124, OML 126, and OML 137.

With this background, I believe the Adamawa Emirate Council have hit the bullseye by giving honours to whom it is due by conferring the traditional title of SARKIN FULANI ADAMAWA to Abdullahi Bashir Haske, a gesture which received a commendation from all and sundry thereby cementing the robust relationship between Adamawa Emirate and Ganye Chiefdom where he currently hold the title of Chiroma.
