LEARNING TIMING IN POULTRY FARMING

Last year while planning for the Christmas sales, we stocked over 200 birds with confidence because the market was smiling, demand was hot, and the prices were sweet. Birds were flying out faster than we could weigh them.

Fast-forward to this year…
Same season o, same business… but the market changed.
This time, we could only stock less than half of what we did last year.

Did we suddenly become beginners?
No.
Did the business stop working?
No.
The market simply shifted.

And that’s why I keep saying that poultry farming is not just about raising birds... it’s about understanding timing.

Because in this business, you don’t just stock because you “feel like it”.
You stock because the market says “YES, this is the right time.”

The person who stocked 500 birds at the wrong time will still make less money than the person who stocked 150 birds at the right time.

Poultry business will humble you if you don’t know your onions.
It will teach you that no two seasons are the same.
It will remind you that what worked last year may not work this year, and that’s okay.

What matters is wisdom, timing, and adjusting your strategy instead of forcing the market to bend for you.

If you want to break even consistently in poultry, learn to read the season…
Watch the market…
And stock with SENSE, not PRIDE.

Because in poultry business, timing is not just everything, it is in fact the difference between profit and premium loss.
