🇬🇧The Red Light District or De Wallen is a mandatory tourist attraction for even the least progressive. Red and purple lights are projected from their windows, which are normally rented, indicating respectively that the professional is awoman or transvestite.
Like all port regions in the past, prostitution has always been a present activity, but not well regarded. Over the years, the situation in Amsterdam has become extreme and implied a ban on the practice on the streets. This encouraged the start of self-display in store windows. Bypassing the law, s*x workers were able to work, but all the problems surrounding this activity continued to grow, such as abuse, child prostitution, human and drug trafficking. Thus, the Dutch government decriminalized the activity and thanks to this, the region has museums, concert halls and restaurants that help to move the well-known amsterdam night scene.

🇧🇷A Red Light District ou De Wallen é atração turística mandatória até para os menos progressistas. De suas vitrines, normalmente alugadas, são projetadas luzes vermelhas e roxas que indicam respectivamente que o profissional ali é mulher ou tr****ti.
Como toda região portuária antigamente, a prostituição sempre foi uma atividade presente mas nao bem vista. Com o passar dos anos, a situacao em amsterdam se tornou extrema e implicou na proibição da prática nas ruas. Isto incentivou o inicio da auto exibiçao em vitrines. Burlando a lei as profissionais do s*xo conseguiam trabalhar mas todos os problemas que envolvem esta atividade continuava crescendo como abuso, prostituição infantil, trafico humano e de dr**as. Assim o governo holandes discriminalizou a atividade e graças a isto, a região possui museus, casas de show e restaurantes q ajudam a movimentar a tão conhecida cena noturna de amsterdam.

🇬🇧 In the coming Wednesdays, I will frighten you with fearsome destinations.
Nagoro is a tiny Japanese village with one very notable feature: a life-sized doll population that outnumbers the human population nearly 10:1. The toy residents are the work of local Tsukimi Ayano, who began making doll replicas of her neighbors after they died or moved away. They can be seen in various positions across the town—fishermen sitting on the riverbank, students filling entire classrooms, elderly couples resting on benches outside of buildings. There are now around 350 dolls and 27 breathing humans (the youngest is over the age of 50) in Nagoro, making it a quirky and somewhat terrifying toyland

🇧🇷 Nas próximas quartas-feiras, irei amedrontá-los com destinos um tanto quanto medonhos.
Nagoro é uma pequena vila japonesa com uma característica muito notável: uma população de bonecos em tamanho natural que supera a população humana em quase 10: 1. Os moradores de brinquedos são obra de Tsukimi Ayano, que começou a fazer réplicas de bonecas de seus vizinhos depois que eles morreram ou se mudaram. Eles podem ser vistos em várias posições da cidade - pescadores sentados na margem do rio, estudantes enchendo salas de aula inteiras, casais idosos descansando em bancos fora dos edifícios. Atualmente, existem cerca de 350 bonecos e 27 humanos respirando (o mais novo tem mais de 50 anos) em Nagoro, tornando-o uma terra de brinquedos peculiar e um pouco aterrorizante.

🇬🇧 When European Coffee shops became the preferred hangouts of their city's intellectuals in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they turned into cultural institutions with ornate, palatial interiors. Some of the most iconic coffee shops are in south america where the idea of elegance was a must. Many if not most of them remain open today, although the main visitors are now tourists guided by their guidebooks. Those cafés are now essentially museums where coffee and pastries are served at high prices, while others have been turned into full-blown restaurants, and a few still attempt to keep their cultural heritage alive by hosting literary and other cultural events. I have been in some of the list below. Check it out and tell me if you took a coffe at one of these.

🇧🇷 Quando os cafés europeus se tornaram o ponto de encontro preferido dos intelectuais de suas cidades no final do século XIX e início do século XX, eles se transformaram em instituições culturais com interiores ornamentados e palacianos. Algumas das cafeterias mais emblemáticas estão na América do Sul, onde a idéia de elegância era essencial. Muitos, se não a maioria, permanecem abertos hoje, embora os principais visitantes agora sejam turistas guiados por seus guias. Atualmente, esses cafés são essencialmente museus onde café e doces são servidos a preços altos, enquanto outros foram transformados em restaurantes completos, e alguns ainda tentam manter viva sua herança cultural ao sediar eventos literários e outros eventos culturais. 🇬🇧First city I’ve ever visited, is also one of the ones I returned the most. The contradictions of the Argentine capital introduce us into its cultural veins. Modern architecture merges with French art nouveau. In gastronomy, asado can be eaten on street corners or in elegant restaurants. The ethnic mix is also a hallmark of the contrasts in this vibrant city. Also known as the European capital of South America, the city of Buenos Aires deserves a visit, whether to eat well, dance a tango or simply have a coffee at Tortoni.

🇧🇷Primeira cidade que visitei, também é uma das que mais retornei. Os contradoxos da capital argentina nos introduz nas suas veias culturais. A arquitetura moderna se confunde com o art nouveau frances. Na gastronomia o asado pode ser consumido nas esquinas ou em restaurantes elegantes.
