As First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of OAFLAD, it was a great honour to host a Special Dinner to close the Strengthening Families Conference 2025 at Lagoonda, Aberdeen.

This was more than a closing event. It was a moment to reflect on the powerful conversations and shared commitments made toward building stronger families, protecting our children, and empowering women.

I am truly encouraged by the energy and unity shown throughout the conference. We leave inspired, focused, and ready to take action where it matters most—at the heart of our communities.

My sincere thanks to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all who made a success. The journey continues, and so does our commitment to building stronger, more inclusive societies.

Today in Moyamba, I had the honour of accompanying my lovely husband, His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio, to officially commission the 1 MW solar power plant in Moyamba District.

This landmark project represents a major step in our government’s drive toward sustainable development and expanding access to clean energy across Sierra Leone. It stands as a clear demonstration of our commitment to renewable energy and our collective vision for a greener, more resilient future.

As First Lady, I am proud of the progress we continue to make under President Bio’s leadership. The commissioning of this plant is more than just an energy milestone; it is a symbol of national development and a promise that no district will be left behind.
