Spotify’s Verified Artist Badges Reflect a Bigger Shift in Music Rights Management

The "Verified by Spotify” move reflects a growing industry focus on authenticity and trusted artist identity. As AI-generated music continues to scale across streaming platforms, accurate attribution and verified ownership are becoming increasingly important for rightsholders, platforms and listeners alike.

At Broma 16, we continue to ensure that our partners’ rights are properly managed, repertoire precisely tracked and royalties collected in full, across all territories and DSPs in an increasingly fragmented digital landscape.

AI Assistants Are Becoming the New Discovery Layer for Music

Anthropic’s new Claude integrations with apps like Spotify signal a broader shift in how users may interact with music platforms in the future. Instead of browsing streaming services directly, listeners are increasingly relying on AI assistants to discover, recommend and play music across ecosystems.

For our partners, this highlights the growing importance of accurate rights management and cross-platform tracking. As music usage becomes more fragmented across AI-driven platforms, ensuring that royalties are properly matched, tracked and collected will become increasingly critical.

We continue to follow how AI is transforming the digital music ecosystem — helping rightsholders take advantage of new technologies while ensuring their music usage translates into measurable revenue.

The AI chatbot is becoming a one-stop shop for all your app needs.

6 Billion Track Saves: TikTok Discovery Is Now Directly Driving Royalties

TikTok’s “Add to Music App” feature surpassed 6 billion track saves in 2025! Users are no longer just hearing tracks on TikTok - they are actively saving them into Spotify, Apple Music and other DSPs.

For Broma 16 partners, this is an important signal. TikTok is evolving into a powerful discovery-to-streaming funnel that directly impacts royalties and catalogue performance.

We work to ensure that when music gains traction across platforms like TikTok, the resulting usage and downstream royalties are properly tracked, matched and collected worldwide - so viral momentum translates into actual revenue for rightsholders. Are you fully covered for TikTok collections worldwide?

TikTok said those 6 billion track saves translated to “many, many billions more streams in repeat” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

Instagram is becoming the music superfan hub... but will that value be fully monetized?

New data from Luminate confirms what many in the industry are starting to feel: Instagram is where music superfandom is actively built.

And here’s the shift: more engaged fans don’t just stream more. They create more content. They generate more usage: across platforms, formats, and contexts.

That leads to a simple reality: more usage = more revenue potential…but also more blindspots, or touchpoints where that revenue can be missed.

At Broma 16, we continuously improve how we identify and track new and growing music usage opportunities.

As entertainment’s preeminent data and insights company, our services unlock the most trustworthy information across music, film and television.

YouTube is moving into identity rights - and this is bigger than it looks.

Among the many developments we track across platforms, this one stands out.
YouTube is rolling out a new AI-powered “Likeness Detection” tool, allowing artists to identify and request removal of content where their face is generated or altered by AI.

At first glance, it’s a safety feature - but it actually signals something much larger. We are now entering a phase where:
- Face becomes an asset
- Identity becomes trackable
- AI-generated likeness usage becomes claimable

And where there is tracking — there will be monetization, claims and new revenue channels for rightsholders.

At Broma 16, we see this as an important shift toward new licensing practices and emerging usage types that are likely to scale very soon. And in the ecosystem that’s shaping today there will always be more royalties to collect!

Recent coverage highlights that YouTube is already moving in this direction. https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/891678/youtube-is-expanding-its-ai-deepfake-detection-tool-to-politicians-and-journalists
