🎧 Snapchat signs music licensing deals — what does it mean for rightsholders?

Snapchat just made a big move, signing new licensing agreements with music publishers through the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA). This is another step toward making sure music used on social platforms is licensed — and artists get paid.

At Broma 16, we welcome this shift: every new deal like this helps close the gaps in global royalty collection — especially for short-form video, where usage often slips through the cracks. The message is clear: social platforms know music has value. It’s time rightsholders made the most of it.
