âBRING HER BACKâ Full Review
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
I walked into Bring Her Back wanting a solid horror flick, but what hit me was something far deeper, darker, and surprisingly emotional. At first, it kicks off like a tense psychological thriller: two siblings, Andy (Billy Barratt) and Piper (Sora Wong), placed with a new foster mom, Laura (Sally Hawkins), and strange things starts happening around them.
What sets this apart is how it transforms grief into its own brand of terror. Lauraâs desperation to resurrect her dead daughter bleeds into manipulation and abuse that feels uncomfortably real. Itâs not flashy jump scares, itâs slow, internal, and far more chilling.
Sally Hawkins gives an unforgettable performance. You feel the sorrow tugging at every bone, and when grief turns monstrous, itâs terrifying. Barratt and Wong are equally compelling; their bond as siblings anchors the film emotionally.
To sum it up, this is horror you canât shake. Itâs visceral, itâs unsettling, itâs haunting. The final act is devastating, heartbreaking and visceral in equal measure.
Bring Her Back stands out as one of 2025âs most emotionally potent horror films. Itâs brutal in its realism, unsettling in its rituals, and achingly tragic in its themes of grief and loss. Sally Hawkins leads a cast that refuses to let you look away even when you desperately want to. Highly recommended (but maybe watch with lights on).
âBring Her Backâ is now playing in cinemas.
