From satire to SummerSlam: Jon Stewart to host WWE wrestling extravaganza

Former anchor puts piledrivers before politics in return to TV just two weeks after emotional Daily Show farewell

He might have only concluded his final Daily Show less than a fortnight ago, but Jon Stewart has already lined up a return to television. However, piledrivers, rather than politics, will be the satirist’s focus this time: Stewart will be guest-hosting World Wrestling Entertainment’s pay-per-view extravaganza SummerSlam this Sunday at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. The WWE website confirmed Stewart’s appearance at the event on Monday in response to a report by USA Today.

Stewart’s appearance is less surprising than it might seem. A longtime wrestling fan, he appeared on WWE’s Raw show in March as part of a long-running mock-feud with wrestler Seth Rollins, which began when Rollins interrupted The Daily Show’s closing Moment of Zen segment in February.

Google delays DIY smartphone initiative Project Ara until 2016

Google has announced its Project Ara modular smartphone platform has been delayed until 2016 due to changes in design

Google's plans to trial Project Ara have been pushed back until 2016, the company has confirmed.
The modular smartphone concept, which is part of Google's Advanced Technology & Projects group, was slated for testing and eventual sale in Puerto Rico later this year.
The platform will now be tested at various locations across the US, due to more model iterations than expected, according to Project Ara's Twitter account.

The platform allows users to clip different components, or modules, together to create a smartphone with a camera, RAM, GPU and display of choice, meaning new modules can be purchased for an upgrade or replacement, rather than buying an entirely new device. Each of the modules are said to cost between $50 (£33) - $100.
Rumours Google had planned to showcase working Project Ara phones at this year's Mobile World Congress in March proved unfounded.

Yankees recount Bryan Mitchell's scary scene from Monday



Yankees' starting pitcher Monday, Bryan Mitchell, threw a 93 mile per hour fastball to Minnesota Twins' shortstop Eduardo Nunez in the second inning Monday.

A split-second later it came screaming back at him 103 mph, the ball striking him in the face.

Mitchell went to the hospital immediately afterwards and the team announced midway through the game that he had suffered a slight nasal fracture.

All things considered, though, it could have been much worse.

Dropbox adds support for a USB security keys for two-factor login

Cloud storage service Dropbox has announced that it is enabling USB security keys for a two-factor login.

According to The Verge, the USB security keys will allow the users to supplement the conventional password login with a physical device.

Security keys are physical USB dongles that allow the users to bypass the traditional app- and text message-based two-factor authentication schemes with their six-digit codes by simply plugging the key into the user's computer.

The advantage of these keys is that they make it almost impossible for a hacker to intercept both the user's password and the two-factor code. Normal two-factor authentication, still leaves the users vulnerable to phishing attacks while security keys will only exchange their codes with legitimate sites.
