Did you know? In the Netherlands, for newborn babies, it is a tradition to serve this Beschuit met muisjes "rusk with little mice" to visitors who come to see your baby at home.
Siblings also bring this to school to share with classmates.
Toasted bread (beschuit) with butter and topped with Muisjes (colourful sugar sprinkles). Blue for a baby boy and pink for a baby girl.
Our fostered cat recently gave birth to 3kittens, so as new fur fostered parents, we were suppose to serve this to our visitors who came to visit, BUT WE FAILED. Paul's family brought this package last night, and we kept it thinking it was for us.😂😂
