Even eerlijk zijn: in mijn hoofd ben ik nog steeds 16 en sta ik vooraan in de moshpit.
Maar mijn spieren denken daar de ochtend na een trailrun training soms heel anders over... 😂 Die starre ledematen en kleine pijntjes herinneren me eraan dat ik al wat meer 'ervaring' heb, maar dat houdt me niet tegen!
​De blik is gericht op 31 mei: Triathlon Stein !
De weg ernaartoe is even doorbijten, maar het gaat mij weer lukken. Wie zie ik daar aan de start (of langs de zijlijn)? 🏁

I am at the highest point of La Palma and the world seems to be literally stopping here. Under my feet, the immense depth of the Caldera de Taburiente, a crater so large and capricious that it feels almost unreal.

The cold wind chases along the rocks of the Roque de los Muchachos as I walk foot by foot along the narrow paths on the crater rim.
One moment I look straight into the deep abyss of Garafía, the next I see the white domes of the observatories glistening against the clear blue sky. The clouds float like a soft blanket far below me, making it feel like I'm standing on an island in the sky. Every step at this height is a battle against the elements, but the view over the ocean and the neighboring islands makes everything right. This is the raw power of nature at its best.

Short hike, big views! Don't let the distance fool you—that climb was a total leg burner. But honestly, seeing Neuschwanstein Castle popping up in the distance made every step worth it. Managed to escape the crowds for a bit and earned that fairytale view. Legs are feeling it.
