Back where it all began, the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup at Papendal (Arnhem, NLD). Last weekend I shot World Cup Round 3 and 4, commissioned by Papendal. Seeing familiar faces and some stuff never change, even over 10+ years since my first BMX World Cup at Papendal

In the last week of April I've shot the Wheelchair Rugby European Championship in The Hague, commissioned by Team TOC. It was my first time capturing this intense sport and it delivered on all fronts: fast-paced action, true sportsmanship, and top-level entertainment.

In addition to the Press Test in early April we started off shooting the new Yamaha Ténéré 700 for the static beauty shots. It took some time getting used to shooting bikes without a rider...

Okay, I couldn't wait to share these images. After years of shooting triathlons and diving, it had to happen that I would take the camera underwater. And that's what I did this morning during a shoot with Kim Van T Verlaat and her sponsor deboer wetsuits. Definitely left me wanting more!

Time to look back at an exciting project from earlier this spring. In early April, we had the opportunity to shoot for Yamaha Motor Europe on behalf of GIG creative film production, capturing the new Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally with some big names on the bikes!

The Africa Eco Race is a one-of-a-kind rally raid that follows in the footsteps of legendary African rallies, emphasizing a spirit of adventure and environmental respect. This international rally connects Monaco to Dakar, offering stages through Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal, culminating on the shores of the iconic Lac Rose.
After missing one edition I was back this year covering the Dutch competitors for RallyTracks and working together with the international rally-media-family that is really unique.

2023 has come to an end and like tradition, we can look back on a spectacular year. I'm proud to work with several national sports federations, event organizers, and other organizations. Some of my images have been published all over the world, and some are still under embargo.
Dakar Rally 2024 is around the corner and with that, next year is almost starting. I can't wait to face more unique challenges and work on upcoming projects
I would like to thank my loyal clients such as KNWU, Nederlandse Triathlon Bond, Handboogsport, Nederlandse Golf Federatie, Team TOC, DaklaPack Europe, NLTactical, Rallymaniacs, and many more.

About me
I’m Tim Buitenhuis, a 26-year-old sports photographer and currently finishing my study in Communication & Multimedia Design at the HAN University of Applied Sciences.
In 2014 I graduated after a shortened route as a graphic designer at the ROC A12 in Ede. This was for me the reason to go on as a freelancer but I was certainly not finished with my studies. My aim was to study at the HAN University of Applied Sciences to strengthen my communication skills.
But in addition to my studies, I work as a freelance photographer, designer and marketer. My heart is in sport, so this is the place where you will find me the most. With a lot of passion, I work as a sports photographer at various events, from golf and ice skating into offroad rallies.
The passion for sport does not just come around, from my childhood I have always been involved in sports and until this day I can get my energy and satisfaction from the sport. I have shot my bow for ten years in the national top, followed by three years on the mountainbike for national competitions and from today on you can find me with a pair climbing- or hiking shoes.
Commitment is something I attach a lot of value to, every day I’m driven to get the best out of myself and my work.
