The Windows 10 upgrade is free for only one year, but if you sit down and take a look at all the settings that are turned on by default. You probably want to downgrade your system right now.

In 1957, Herbert’s team were stranded for more than a month in Antarctica after their rescue boat hit an iceberg. He wrote: ‘The Reclus hut was no more than a box – steeply roofed, with two windows, a door and three primus stoves. There were bunks, a table, a bench, two chairs and a gramophone. To feed the dogs we built a raft and paddled out to sea to catch seals. We fed ourselves on penguin, and baked bread in an oven made from an old flour tin. Eventually, on 28 December 1957, the John Biscoe rescued us. The hut is now proudly displayed at the Falkland Islands museum.’

Aston aims at Tesla with 800-horsepower electric car

Aston Martin is taking aim at Tesla with an 800-horsepower electric sedan, Automotive News reports.

The all-electric version of the Rapide would debut in about four years, Aston-Martin CEO Andy Palmer tells the News. Despite all its power, the car could still have all-wheel drive and a range of about 200 miles per charge. An electric DBX crossover would follow.

Despite Tesla's current popularity, the move isn't necessarily due buyers clamoring for an electric Aston. Rather, the move appears to be driven by tougher government fuel-economy regulations. Palmer says Aston needs to offset the brand's thirsty gas-powered sedans, like those with 12-cylinder engines.

The electric Aston would be priced higher than any Tesla, Palmer acknowledged.
