"Vacancy"

One room, two beds.
But only one side
smelled like loneliness.

The curtains never closed right,
and the ice bucket
was full of tears
no one admitted to spilling.

We talked
like strangers
with matching scars,
too tired to unpack
what the silence knew.

Check-in was easy.
Check-out
took years.

"The Tide in Your Mouth"

You made promises
like ships without sails,
setting them loose
into oceans
too tired to hold more lies.

I held my breath
while you whispered
every "forever"
into the salt between us.

But your love
was made of riptides.
It pulled me under
just for the thrill of watching me surface.

You made promises
that drowned oceans.
And still, I drank.

"Unsent"

I didn’t think you’d hear this,
but here I am,
writing for ears
I swore I forgot.

You read the lines
and search for yourself,
like you weren’t the fire
I swallowed to survive.

I kept your secrets
like bruises.
Now I’m painting them
into confession.

If you’re listening,
this was never yours to keep.

"Carnival Love"

You loved me like a fool,
loud, fast,
all cotton candy
and calloused hands.

You didn’t look back
when you ran,
but I stayed
spinning in your wake.

I called it real,
when it was just
reckless.

Love doesn’t leave
without cleaning up.
But you did.

"We Never Had to Speak"

Drive, don’t talk.
Let the road eat
what we’re too tired
to explain.

Let the wind
steal my sighs
and your fingers
rest just out of reach.

We were always better
in motion,
avoiding the pause
where truth blooms.

We were silence
and survival.
Gasoline and goodbye.
