You were supposed to be so old that the grey hairs would take over your fluffy face. The world is so unfair, I hope you can rest now, you were the most perfect companion and friend one could ever ask for and I will miss you forever ❤️‍🩹😭

Leo was diagnosed with meningitis and some growth within his brain on December 15th, we had the seizures under control with his high dosage of cortisol and epileptic medication - though when we tried to lower his cortisol dosage the seizures came back. First after 26 days seizure free, then again 8 days seizure free, with to within two hours. We headed straight to and he was admitted there for almost 3 days. Fighting seizure after seizure, stronger and stronger doses and stronger and stronger medication did not help. No matter what, the medication did not work and he kept having multiple seizures within hours from each other. That’s when we decided along with the vets that, there is nothing more we can do. He has to be able to rest now🥺😭❤️‍🩹

Health update… 😢❤️‍🩹

Last night at 18:40 or so, Leo got his first seizure in 8 days while i was at work. We packed up and got back home, but then at 20:40, he had another seizure. We called the vet to let them know about it both times, the second time they told us to bring him in so they could monitor him.

Leo was then admitted to observation over night and I hoped he would have a good nights sleep in a safe environment - unfortunately he didn’t have a good nights sleep. 🥺
At 3:30 this morning he had another seizure, then another one at 10, and then the last one came 11:30 today. The call with the vet wasn’t what we had hoped for, but understandably: they want to keep him one more night for observation. ❤️‍🩹

We went to visit him at 17:30 today, tired from the medication to work against the seizures, he tried to greet us and all despite being tired and exhausted, but by then there weren’t any more seizures at least.

They think that the main reason here is that the cortison dosage was lowered too soon, so they have upped the dosage to what we originally started with today, hopefully those will kick in and work soon. At this point we can only wait and hope there wont be any more seizures, 5 seizures in 24 hours is more than enough…😢

He is himself between the seizuresthoigh, quickly gathers himself and other than being tired, he eats and drinks well and is responsive with everyone there, which is at least some good news. 🤞🏻❤️

Im exhausted, tired, and i feel so helpless. All i want is my best friend back home and to be done with this…

9 days until we move down on the dosage of his cortison now from 1 and 1/2 a day to just 1 a day, the cortison also slows down the fur growth apperantly, but we feel like the back of his head fur has grown fast back though the fur on his legs are sloooooow to come back. 👀🤣 At least it’s growing and showing progress!🥰

Guess who had to make sure he got every single disease/injury there is all at once and had a finishing touch of ‘wound on his pee-pee’ - Oh yes, this guy! 🐶😅 He has to wear a cone now so he won’t lick the scabs on the wounds off continuously and i have to keep the area clean - yay! 🙈😅

Are we done with the list soon or what Leo??🤞🏻

Leo’s being his cuddly self and no new seizures! 🥰❤️‍🩹 In other words: i have no updates for you guys! Which is the best news honestly 🥰 3 days and 9 hours seizure free now, last time he had seizures he had 4 seizures within 24 hours, so my pulse has gone down now he hasn’t had another one for days now🤞🏻❤️‍🩹 Seems like the medications are working as they should 🥺

This lil guy got so many cuddles and well wishes at work yesterday and was very pleased with himself😅❤️ He stayed by my side at all times so I could keep a good eye on him throughout the day but the only thing that happened was Leo getting jealous at me trimming another dogs nails 🤣

So in short: no new seizures last night and he has now been seizure free for 1 day and 8 hours❤️‍🩹

1:49 this morning i woke up to Leo having another seizure. 😢 It was a maximum of 20 seconds but still spooky. We called in to to let them know about it, and thankfully he’s not had another one and came to himself pretty quick so we did not have to go in for Leo to have a check up. ❤️‍🩹
It’s been 26 days since his last seizure before this one, so we are hoping this means he will have fewer and fewer seizures with longer and longer in between with the help of the medication. 💊

Not exactly what we wanted to happen but we can only take one day at a time and hope for the best either way…❤️‍🩹

The weather was gorgeous yesterday so I managed to snap a few pics of the gremlin in the midst of eating a big chomp of snow - he wasn’t happy being caught in the act and to be told to sit still for a photo though, can you tell? ❄️🤣

Look at him healing and enjoying himself in the snow!! ❤️❤️‍🩹🥺 And of course he has to make sure he gets some bites of the snow while he runs😆 Im just so glad hes making progress, becoming himself more and more for each day 🥺❤️‍🩹
