Morning encounter 🦌

Just after sunrise today, I spotted this beautiful roe deer quietly grazing in a green meadow. We locked eyes for a moment before it disappeared into the tall grass.

🌍 30 Days Until Kenya & Uganda! 🌿🦁🦍

The countdown is officially on! In just one month, I’ll be embarking on an incredible journey deep into the heart of East Africa — from the vast, golden savannahs of Kenya 🇰🇪 to the lush, mysterious Bwindi Forest in Uganda 🇺🇬.

A special highlight of this trip is finally fulfilling a childhood dream: coming face to face with the majestic mountain gorillas 🦍 — creatures I’ve admired and dreamed about for years. This journey is more than travel; it’s passion, discovery, and connection.

I’ll also be venturing into the wetlands around Entebbe in search of the legendary shoebill 🦩👀, one of Africa’s most unique and fascinating birds.

I can’t wait to explore breathtaking landscapes, capture incredible wildlife 🦒🐆, and immerse myself in the rich cultures and stories of these amazing places. I’ll be sharing it all here and on my blog 💻📷 — with stories, behind-the-scenes moments, and photos straight from the wild.

Before this epic adventure begins, I’m off to Albania 🇦🇱 with my daughter — UggeTheExplorer Jr. ❤️ — for some ☀️ sun, 🎉 fun, 🗺️ exploration, 🛍️ shopping, and poolside 🏊‍♀️ memories.

📸 Evening Elegance on the Water 🦢

A lone mute swan gliding through golden hour reflections—quiet, regal, and completely serene. The stillness of this moment was pure magic. Captured in Oslo just before sunset with the Canon EOS R3 and RF 100-500mm lens.

Headed into the forest tonight to test some new gear — my Canon R3, the 100mm macro, and a flash setup powerful enough to signal alien life 🛸🪰

It was my first time ever trying macro photography, and wow… it’s a whole different beast! 😬

Tiny subjects. Paper-thin focus. Total darkness. And me? Mostly just trying to figure out how to see the subject after turning off the modeling light 😅

No masterpieces yet — but I learned a lot! 🤩

Every misfocused frame is a step forward! 🙏

Gotta start somewhere — and I’m excited to keep going! 🌿📷
