📢 Private Schools Withdraw Closure, Announce Parliament Siege

Kathmandu, Bhadra 8 – Private schools across Nepal have withdrawn their earlier decision to shut down on Bhadra 9. However, they have announced a new protest program to lay siege to the Parliament today.

The decision came after an emergency meeting of HISSAN, PABSON, NPABSON, and APEN, initiated by HISSAN Bagmati Province. The organizations had warned of a nationwide closure if their demands were not met, but later decided to continue their movement through new forms of protest.

According to NPABSON President Subash Neupane, protesters will gather at Maitighar Mandala at 11 AM and march towards the Parliament. HISSAN Acting President Yubraj Sharma stressed that the state is trying to weaken private schools, but they will continue the struggle until their concerns are addressed.

Their key demands include scrapping provisions in the School Education Bill on full scholarships and converting private schools into “non-profit” entities.

📢 Private Schools Warn of Protests from August 14
Kathmandu – Four major private school organizations—PABSON, HISSAN, National PABSAN, and N-PABSAN—have announced they will launch protests from August 14 if their concerns over the proposed School Education Bill remain unresolved.
They oppose provisions requiring scholarships to cover accommodation, transport, and stationery, and reject the plan to make private schools non-profit. Their demands include retaining the current 10% scholarship policy (covering only admission, annual, and tuition fees) and removing the “full scholarship” clause.

📢 Grade 12 Results Published!
The National Examination Board (NEB) has officially announced the Grade 12 results. Out of 511,525 examinees, 61.17% students passed the exams held from Baisakh 21 (May 4, 2025). A total of 395,908 regular and 115,617 partial students appeared in the exams. GPA-wise, 13,502 students scored between 3.61–4.00, while 94,268 scored between 2.81–3.20. The board also cancelled results of 17 students due to misconduct.

📝 Supplementary exams (Grade Improvement) will be held on Bhadra 28–29 (Sept 13–14, 2025).
