With the concept of Rashik Raj and Anshu Khanal, also the performers, they brought Whispers of Earth to the stage, a powerful performance exploring the deep bond between indigenous people and the land. The performers beautifully brought history and resilience to life using mud as a medium and a symbol.

The contemporary dance performance, Whispering Indigenous Echoes, choreographed and directed by JD Tamu and performed by the students at Nepa Dance Academy, was a hypnotic performance conveying the subtle yet profound transmission of ancestral wisdom through graceful, grounded movements.

The Nepali play Jhoda, staged at Mandala Theatre, was directed by Chetan Aangthupo, an actor, playwright, and director. The play, based on Ganesh Rasik’s novel Akashgangako Otmuni, explored the struggle for land ownership and the political manipulation of indigenous communities in eastern Nepal. It was performed by the artists of Chulachuli Theatre, established in 2070 in Ilam, a dynamic theatrical institution dedicated to social transformation through theatre.

The Indian play Tamasha, staged at the Mandala Theatre, was directed by Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry, a celebrated director whose plays have been featured in national and international festivals. The play, examining the human condition in the face of conflict and survival, was performed by CULT (Calicut University Little Theatre), a dynamic repertory of the Department of Theatre at Calicut University producing a diverse range of plays, engaging local communities and showcasing their work at prestigious festivals.

The evening session, Sounds of Nepal Mandal, brought to the stage, the beats of Charya and Dhime. With Dhime, an ancient musical instrument played by the native Jyapu community of Nepal Mandal, now played by the entire Newa community, and Charya dance, a sacred Buddhist dance, the team mesmerised the audience with their tunes and rhythms.
